Frankly, I am very happy with Brent Key as HC. I never wanted Dion - not my kind of person. CBK is a real person, cares about GT and the players and will do what is best for both. I think we will be seeing him for a long time if we can come up with the dollars because he will be successful...
I think CDS is a good hire, i just question the team make up. Was Blue Cain not good enough to play for him or is there something I am missing.? Are we to live and die by the portal now?
One day, the Oline and Dline players who are not getting the big NIL dollars will realize that if they miss a few blocks or tackles, drop a few passes, the big NIL players may not be worth near as much. Then the NIL playing field starts to level a bit and the NIL starts to get spread around...
I think it may be good to practice for a week then Spring Break. Let everyone know what is expected, give them the information and specifics and then see which ones use Spring Breal to come back smarter and more ready - who is committed.
Have to wait and see how it works out. What is he a special assistant for? At the worst, he has a good teacher if he is willing to learn. If so, his future could take a turn for the better which I hope happens. Would love to see him as a successful NCAA head coach somewhere.
I think part of the problem with student attendance at Football and baskeet all games may be the seating given students. When I was there students got East stand seats. We lined up an hour or more early to get in. For basketball we went early, sat near mid-court to watch warmups before the game...
Don't know if you guys would remember this but back in the Dodd era, GT would go to bowl games and while the other team was practicing and beating each other up, GT players were playing volleyball to maintain their timing but the bowl game was their reward. At least that is what I was told...
