Bryce Elder or Ian Anderson to start. Bellinger only makes sense until Acuna comes back and that's the problem that the Braves face right now with anybody they could sign or trade for.
Go watch the World Baseball Classic from 2023. Dude was lights out for Japan pitching with Ohtani and Yamamoto. He also threw a no-no at 18 in the NPB (Japan's version of the MLB). He has really strong stuff, but I doubt we get him.
Word on the street is Cody Bellinger is on the trading block...
Don't forget to throw in Canning as well as a 6th starter/long reliever type IMO. I don't think CM is coming back but if he does, it can't be for $20M. I've also heard the Braves are kicking the rocks on a possible Jordan Montgomery trade as well as them supposedly being in the mix for Crochet.
After the trade was announced for Sale, a Red Sox buddy of mine who loves to trash on the Braves was gloating about how the Sox just fleeced the Braves and overwhelmingly won this trade. I told him that AA makes trades for a reason and not to get ahead of himself. Looks like, again, AA knew what...
A few reasons:
1. He will make more money than the QO is worth.
2. By declining it he is free to sign with any team.
3. If he would have accepted it, he would have had to play for the Braves and risked something happening (i.e. injury or bad performance) that would negatively impact his value...
Who is the other lefty? (Sorry if I have missed something).
From what I have gathered from the tea leaves we aren't in on Snell but would rather grab Eovaldi (not likely IMO) and possibly Buehler (more likely). I would much rather sign Max, but history is definitely not on our side here.
Anybody else tired of hearing that the Dodgers and Mets are going to sign every big-name free agent? There was a whole segment on MLB Radio this morning about how the Mets were going to sign Corbin Burnes and Juan Soto and how the Dodgers were going to sign Roki Sisaki and somehow also sign...
There will always be nights where you couldn't hit a wide-open layup if you were the only guy on the court. Even the best of players has bad shooting nights. But you have to be able to push through that and figure out other ways to have an impact on the game. I don't mind bad shooting nights IF...
We saw Philo and King on the same play in the backfield together vs UM. Gimme King, Philo, and Pyron in the backfield together against ugag. You could draw up some really fun plays with that trio.
I saw things I liked and things I didn't. First half was wonderful, but we once again came out of halftime flat and couldn't score. Then, our defense let up considerably and we started taking really bad shots. When our defense is struggling, that's not the time to start chucking up shots...
I think he's more worried about playing his cards close to the vest in interviews than talking out of both sides of his mouth. I would love if for once he gave a straightforward answer, but with Fried being a free agent now, he may be constrained as to what exactly he can say.
Maybe, but at what point do you allow the youth to develop? Baldwin has a great bat, and IMO, Murphy relies on playing daily to have consistency. I don’t think he is a guy who thrives on getting every third day off.
That’s a valid point. Sometimes letting guys figure out the game without explicitly telling them what’s going on bodes well for diagnosing a team later on. Kids gotta have basketball IQ too
I agree with your sentiment and understand what you're saying, but I had the UNF offense diagnosed within 2 minutes of both halves, and I ended my playing career after high school. CDS touted our bigs as being able to guard 1-5 and UNF directly challenged that all night and won those individual...
It was very early on in the broadcast and was quickly mentioned but the sideline reporter did say that he was assured he couldn't injury his shoulder any worse running the ball and that's all that was said. The rest was implied which it seems everybody but the UM coaching staff understood lol
