I am simply quoting the results of his study that showed engineers in general clearly take care and save their money. That has nothing to do with your opinion Dave.
You are missing the point. My point was that most Tech alum are ‘everyday millionaires’. They are engineering degree occupation people who make good money by world standards but are clearly good with numbers and therefore aren’t going to give that away to 18 year old kids. They are stock piling...
There is a reason why Dave Ramsey identified that engineers were the number 1 occupation in his study of ‘Everyday Millionaires’……..they don’t waste money on 18 year old kids throwing and kicking a ball around!
I love GT football but spending money on a game for entertainment purposes is...
Back to TV markets - I see us like Rutgers was a decade+ or so ago when the Big 10 was looking for new markets. Rutgers was pitched as this gateway to NYC / Jersey area to expand the footprint of the conference.
We are just like Rutgers, a small city school in a huge city metropolis but a small...
I think you guys need to get to the final understanding that all this realignment is about brand value NOT TV markets and definitely not academics!
I love GT but our brand is not that of the others (Clemson, UNC, FSU). Miami I honestly can’t say at this point.
We absolutely need to be...
I sincerely hope J Batt and Cabrera are on the phone with the Big 12. I believe after the golden children leave ( FSU, Clemson, UNC, possibly one other school) the remnants including us need to be merging with the Big 12. That would put us in a competitive conference top to bottom…somewhere...
And how has Rutgers done in the Big10?
At this point, the BIG10 and SEC would surely dump Vandy, Northwestern, and Rutgers at the first chance to get brands like FSU and UNC. They simply bring more brand value/money to the pie.
Not talking academics. That has simply gone out the window….
I am GT fan and alumni. I think you guys are overly optimistic though thinking we will get an offer from the B1G when this conference finally crumbles. You guys hang your hats too much on our location in Atlanta. Do you think that really matters? Do you think Vanderbilt’s location in Nashville...
I gotta be honest I am seriously doubting the direction as a fan of CFB. There are simply no boundaries and regulation now and no oversight from the NCAA. From a fan’s perspective, you cannot get ‘attached’ to any one on the team because they are gone next week to the highest bidder.
I feel...
I don’t know about you guys, but the more and more I think about conference realignment the more I realize that Tech is best off in the ACC long term with like minded schools in regards to fan base size, academics, and…money put into sports. I say this because…
The following programs are more...
Charlotte would be great for Tech. We have a large amount of alumni between the RTP area and Charlotte. Personally, I always try to attend at least one of the away games between Wake, UNC, Duke, and NCSU living here in CLT.
2009(?) when we took down Top 5 Tyrod Taylor and the VT Hokies at home on the way to knocking down the goal posts.... I'll never forget that night after storming the field. I was very fortunate to start at Tech when Johnson arrived in 2008. Great memories!
Part of me thought that with NIL / Transfer Portal we could be players ‘come back home to GA’ 2nd school as a lot of guys are lured out of state out of high school. The problem with this is you never develop a ‘team’ and really build a program year over year.
I also like Wake’s approach to...
