As expected, Amaree is entering the portal

I’m not sure he was basically handed the starting pg position. He hardly played all season. CDS clearly wasn’t impressed.

Kyle Sturdivant says goodbye to Georgia Tech

Sturdy is probably my favorite player on this team. Sad to see him go, but also immensely proud of him and the way he has and will continue to represent the Institute. I don’t know him personally , but he certainly seems to have the character and ability to accomplish great things in life. I...

    ACC Tournament - MBB Edition

Nait George had a huge game, but he committed back to back turnovers on basically our last two possessions that essentially cost us any chance to win the game. The middle screen and roll was simply too predictable and Nait ended up in a tough spot and ND took away his only likely option. I agree...

Men's Basketball Finishes Regular Season at Virginia, 3/9/24

This one has been painful to watch.

The rules simply say “a dribble ends when a dribbler catches or carries/palms the ball by allowing it to come to rest in one or both hands.” So technically, carrying is a double dribble, but the ref usually uses a separate hand signal to indicate carrying/palming has been called as opposed to...

Yes, I’ve seen it called occasionally.

Palming is still called occasionally, but it is very, very infrequent. I have seen it called a handful (no pun intended) of times in the past few years, maybe once or twice per season, depending on how much bball I watch.

MBB, Miami, 2/24... Someone has to start the thread

I’ll add that I think Gapare can be a good player for us regardless of whether he becomes a 35-40% 3 point shooter, which I personally think is unlikely.

MBB, Miami, 2/24... Someone has to start the thread

57, I appreciate your contribution here, but I don’t follow you on the bolded. What do you mean, his 1st 3? He has hit other 3’s although not many, and certainly not at a rate that suggests it is at all reasonable to expect that he might eventually hit 35-40%, although one can hope I suppose...

    MBB - 🤞 Clemson 2/21 GAME THREAD.

I don’t like our spread offense at the moment. The two guys in the corner 3 spots do absolutely nothing to stress the defense, especially when they are Claude and Gapare. The offense is too reliant on dribble penetration, which we aren’t able to produce. I don’t even like our ball screen action...

    MBB - 🤞 Clemson 2/21 GAME THREAD.

Bad defense. Bad offense. Another blowout that was over before it started.

    Jackets MBB host Syracuse, 2/17/2024

CDS mentioned a couple of big plays in his post game press conference. He specifically called out the and-one by Kelly to seal the game and a big offensive rebound by Ndongo down the stretch. I want to throw out a couple of other big momentum plays. Reeves’ big dunk was 2 plays in one. First...

    Jackets MBB host Syracuse, 2/17/2024

Agree that the amount of 2-3 zone played by Cuse was primarily to try to keep their guys out of foul trouble, but I don’t agree that they played poorly in the zone. We turned the ball over 17 times. Many of those turnovers happened in the belly of their zone. We only scored 65 points. Their zone...

    MBB @ ND

Gapare is very frustrating to watch. He has physical talent but he is a turnover machine. There was a sequence where he made a great defensive play to block a step back jump shot by Burton. He started a 2 on 1 fast break off of the blocked shot, but instead of passing the ball to reeves (I...

    MBB @ ND

Our guards don’t dribble drive with intent to score and certainly not with intent to attempt to finish contested shots in the paint or at the rim. Instead they dribble drive with the intent to find the open man and make the pass. It’s an admirable mindset and strategy, but the defenses have...

    I really just don’t understand…

You hope the coach has learned this, do you? You know his background, right? Listen to him talk. It’s pretty obvious he understands the value of talented scorers.
