What’s kind of fun about this thread is discovering that others have eclectic taste too. People ask what kind of music I like and I say any kind as long as it’s good. The only genre of music that I’ve never found a work of that I liked is barbershop quartet. If you’re a fan, I’m not judging...
I can’t rank them. Each is its own thing. For hot dogs I would also throw in Charlie Joseph’s in LaGrange. Like Nu-Way and The Varsity, a history that goes way back. Basic chili dog with onions served with an ice cold bottle of coke. Hard to eat just one.
The place in Orono is nice...
That’s it. Don’t know what it’s like now but ten years ago it was great.
Also got to be acquaintances with owner and bartender of Woodman’s which was a really good place for dinner and drinks.
Feels like a lifetime ago now.
Haven’t been to Columbus, GA in a very long time but for a real southern meat and 3 lunch, Ruth-Ann’s was the place. It’s been going strong since the 1950s. Very consistent. Hard part used to be choosing between their biscuits and cornbread.
Got me thinking. There was a former baseball player for UMaine who ended up running a really good hotdog place in Orono. Don’t know if it’s still there or not but a great place to get all styles of hotdogs with great sides and French fries.
Georgia Tech had the second most regular season wins in the modern era (since 2008 when the NCAA capped the number of regular season games). I keep trying to hold onto that accomplishment with my feelings, reminding myself that anything can happen in baseball, especially in the playoffs, but...
I believe this too. It’s the proverbial monkey on the back. If you can ever break through it your psyche has a complete reboot. But, until you do, there lingers in the back of the mind that it’s only a matter of time before something goes wrong.
The bad feeling about this season is similar to my heartache after the overtime loss to uga in football in 2024. That felt like we had the best team with the best shot to win that we’ve had in decades and that it would be a long time before we had an opportunity like that again.
But don’t mind...
I said before the game that I hoped the team had more confidence than the average Tech fan. Oklahoma never looked unconfident. We did. You can be the best team in the country all season long but not be ready to be playoff good.
My mind went back to the first time the Atlanta Braves were...
These are all the key factors in my opinion. A credible case can be made that CDS is not a good coach but, regardless of whether that is true or not, the transfer portal, with our having limited funds, tore this team apart and left us with a hodgepodge of less talented and/or less experienced...
I think I speak for a few GT fans when I say this. We had a bad feeling about this series when some team with red on their uniforms was treated like the home team in our own stadium. Not being the home team, and not getting the last at bat for two days in a row, feels like bad mojo. Baseball...
I’ll say it again. This Tech team is the most dominant I’ve ever seen.
Win, lose, or rained out, regardless of how the ball bounces, this is the best team in the land.
