I'd like to see the deep bench again this game. We've got some challenge games ahead. Would like to see additional scorers emerge beyond Usher and Devoe.
Agreed. Wallace was listed as a S/CB, but not much field time. His remaining eligibility leaves some room to grow. Wondered whether Khari's move would give insight or influence.
Notre Dame, KJ Wallace, CB, 5'10",187 in the portal as of 1/20. Originally offered by GT in 2017. A sophomore by on-field eligibility, Wallace will be a graduate transfer according to Tom Loy, "Notre Dame Defensive Back Enters the Transfer Portal". Wallace graduated from Lovett School in Atlanta.
The ACC announcer put it pretty succinctly, "No defensive resistance in the second half by GT". This is looked and played a lot like an OOC developmental game. Mostly we looked young. I'd just as soon we crack the seal and play the youth for the rest of the year.
10 guys with floor time in the first half. Talking with my boys about how we've struggled all year to find a consistent third scorer. Tonight, all 10 have scored, but only Devoe with double digits.
Yeah. Somewhat my point. By the time I made it to GT, I had a broken athletic body and very little to offer beyond a decent math brain. Glad to have made it in (and out!) 🤓
Kaemen Marley, Ath/WR, Tennessee, in the portal. Received an offer from GT in 2020. The 6-foot-3, 195-pound Marley was listed as a WR, but also worked on defense at safety and linebacker.
Without prejudging his impact on the position, I'm just encouraged that we have a coach dedicated to the position. If we need to hire an improvement later, cross that bridge when we get there.
Seemed like shot selection was not as good as in the 2nd half. Sturdivant with only 2 pts in the half. Howard out, Gigi MIA. Not a great result. That's a beatable ND team.
