Not to mention the fact that we are the only team on our side that has to play Clemson every year. Not that I want to change it, but we definitely have a harder row to hoe
And I can promise you it is 100% true the other way as well, when that school in Athens isn’t doing well, they all claim they really don’t care. It is not unique to us
Also, if you don’t think it doesn’t matter to the hill, you haven’t been paying attention. It is one reason that he will get a longer leash with them as he does graduate players, unlike that school 70 miles to the east
Hmmm, are they like the old time boxers who would abstain for a while before a big fight? Gives them their extra pep? Not sure that is a good recruiting angle though. We definitely need to get this info out ;)
It is, BUT the difference is that their alumni and sidewalk alumni will raise holy hell. And there are enough of them that at least threaten to vote that there are consequences real or perceived for not catering to the rest of the state.
There are all kinds of reasons. Grew up a uga fan and always dreamed of going there, Atlanta is too big and feel more comfortable in Athens, had the grades all along to get into Tech but strung along by gt admissions and welcomed and wooed by uga, etc. etc.
