    Record Attendance Spring Game

We have to get some turnovers first. Speaking of hustle play reward gimmick things, I really liked the gold baton from last year. It actually symbolize teamwork as opposed to individual effort. Each man is simply a part of a much larger relay. I hope we keep that up.

That’s fine, but not “better off.”

I agree for a factory school with a worthless degree. But we aggressively sell academics and the “40 yr plan.” It’s hard to honestly tell a kid he’s better off transferring out of Tech, especially if the NFL isn’t in his future.

Was our defense hamstrung in the past?

And once again the ol’ blame the O theory awakens from the grave. All I have to say is we shall soon find out.

Some things that are not explicit are implied. And those implications are universal in college football.

Exactly. When a coach signs a kid, he's essentially making a 4 year gamble. It's an educated gamble, but a gamble nonetheless. It's the same gamble all the coaches make. Why should some get a mulligan and others not?

I can't believe you're diminishing wins because of the margin of victory. smh. If you do that, then you have to count close losses to good teams as almost wins. And we've had plenty of those over the years.

I really have no problem with it if you’re upfront about it from the very beginning. But my guess is if you do that your recruiting is going to go down the tank. Also, you better knock off all the family blah blah blah.

Was our defense hamstrung in the past?

At some point, you’re forced to change your philosophy if it just ain’t working. I wonder what our percentage was on quarterback pressures/sacks/TFL’s when we did blitz? My guess is in the 20 to 10 percentile. If you own a Prius you don’t put it in a drag race even if you love to drag.

The problem is the reputation you get for doing that type of stuff and the effect it has on recruiting. If everybody’s doing it, it’s no big deal. If you’re the only one, you’re a pariah. My guess is whatever sport your daughter is playing it’s a pretty common practice.
