Two of the three first weekend starters already moved to the bullpen. How can an ACC team with the history of GT have one legitimate starting pitcher on the roster?
I’ll just buy as needed this year. Like I said, I don’t like to be locked into games, the ACC Saturday pack isn’t a flex pack, just a mini-ticket package.
I’m disappointed GT did away with the Flex Pack. I don’t like to be locked into games because you never know what the weather, or life, will bring. The Flex Pack was a great option that let you trade in vouchers for tickets up to and including game day.
The early season 4pm Friday games are a favorite of mine. I work in Buckhead not far from the Marta station, I can leave work around 3pm, catch the train then take the shuttle to the game and make first pitch. Agree with others above though, the OOC weekend series aren’t going to entice me...
While not weekend series, I love Michigan’s non-conference opponents. Again, B1G isn’t strong and these are all road games due to weather up north and not weekend series. Getting SEC schools to come here isn’t likely, but no reason B1G schools and some Big 12 couldn’t work out something when...
Have to be honest, very disappointed in the schedule. I understand the ACC is a tough run of games, but only one P5 non-conference weekend series, and that’s because it’s Georgia, is poor. It’s as if GT is afraid to play anybody.
I’ve only followed GT since moving to Georgia in 2014. How does Parada’s day compare to other outstanding performances? 7-9, 2 HR, 3 2B and 10 RBI in the DH.
The scoreboard had pitch speed this weekend, Maxwell was 94-96 consistently with some 97s thrown. He was straight dealing today. I left when Parada hit his second HR to check out the softball game.
Nice start to the abbreviated weekend, 14-0. Strong start by Huff 6IP 1H 1BB and 9 Ks. Big hit of the day a grand slam by Simpson, his first collegiate HR. Compton was 3-4 with a 2B and HR.
One of those games, forget about it and move on. Southern adds another two runs on a single, two wild pitches, three more walks and a single that really should have been scored an error. Pitching on the night 10 hits, 4 BB, 4 HBP and 2 errors. Down 10-6 heading to the 9th.
Way too early observation after 4 games, unless the defense and pitching improve, immensely, this could be a rough year. Pitching ERA almost 6 and of the 13 runs surrendered only 6 have been earned.
Tech comes back with a run in the 7th on a DeLeo double followed by a Simpson double. Simpson thrown out at third following the throw home. Simpson has four hits, but has been thrown out on the base paths three times. First time picked off first, second time on an overthrow to first he got...
Southern adds two more, both unearned, on a two-out walk then bouncer to the mound but Bartnicki throws it into right field. Brown comes in and gives up a 2-run double with two strikes. Good guys down 8-5 top 7. Four of Southern’s eight runs are unearned.
Looks like this one is going to be a long game. Tech answers with three on a Reid RBI single and Hall 2-run HR. Hall needed that, he’s gotten off to a slow start. 5-5 middle 4.
Pitchers have struggled through 2, but have mitigated the damage. Two HBP and three hits, but only conceded 3 runs. Parada pulls two runs back on his first HR of the season. Down 3-2 middle 3.
