I never understood these things. Aren't they basically worthless? If the kid turns out terrible, Harbaugh will pull his offer. I guess he gets to play the 'I was the first to believe in you card' if he's still coach in 5 years, but does that actually work out?

I can't find it now, but I saw in interesting article on Al kicking last night. The premise was a lot of the kicking problems are coaching. Saban wants the QB to hold because he likes having the option of the QB there for fakes. The QB has a lot less time to practice the holds for the kicking...
