I know for me, I want to see the 8-9 wins become the norm not the exception. If the CGC experiment of hiring a recruiter as a head coach works out, then maybe it will be possible. If not, we will be looking for a new coach after next season.
IMO given our schedule:
6 wins should be the absolute minimum expectation.
7 wins should be the realistic expectation and should be considered an acceptable season (neither especially good nor especially bad).
8 wins will be a good season
9+ wins will be an outstanding season
What worries me about that game is the fact that they are playing a spring season right now. We all know that it took 3-4 weeks to get the offense truly 100% in sync. Remember the saying "When the leaves start turnin' the option starts churnin'." Well, they may be in mid-season form week 1.
You are right. I misread the AJC piece when it said that the 2016 temple team was one of the lowest penalized teams in the nation while the 2017 and 2018 teams were among the highest. I assumed Collins coached all 3 teams. He actually coached only the 2017 and 2018 teams.
The only worrisome thing is that was his pattern at Temple as well. Low penalties first year and some of the worst penalty rates in the nation the next two years. Hopefully this year breaks the cycle...
Nope. And, at least according to my professors, we have the same workloads and exams as the on-campus students, so it's an unusually rigorous online program.
I am currently in an online masters program at Tech. My class alone has over 1000 students spread all over the world. Practically none of them even know Tech has sports - much less care about them
Someone a couple of years ago noted that there seems to be a conservation law between the football and basketball teams - the total wins of the two teams is always right around 22. I think CJP just doomed our football team 🤣
Yeah my sister and BIL have told him that he has to stay in-state, so if he doesn't get into Tech he will go to GA State and live at home. Effectively this will be year 13 of high school for him. LOL. :) Then he will transfer to tech after that.
