    The NFL is not creating a minor league. They have colleges to run a minor league on their behalf for free. College football is lucrative enough to fund the majority of all athletic departments other sports with the exception of basketball.

    Now it’s mostly going to be above ground. I think this is a good thing. I hope it actually does away with the myth that blue chip athletes are all choosing to ride the pine at Clemson, Bama, Uga, Ohio state, and Oklahoma because of water slides and barbershops.

    I agree. I strongly suspect the empty stadium idea won’t pass the muster of legal counsel for a number of power 5 schools. I have to believe the risk is too great. Pro leagues have unions and actual cash compensation for participation.

    I used think playoff expansion would help this attendance issue by giving more teams “hope” of a natty; however, I now think paying fans will be even less interested in the regular season once their team loses a game or two. I think the best thing the schools can do is enhance the experience...

    Sadly, I have to agree with your entire post. They have the money to spend and are spending it. I like where we are headed though. Hopefully, we can serve as a spoiler for them in the next couple of years

    It’s going to be more like 15-20 mil once the new deal kicks in though. I think that’s going to lead to a decade where only the SEC wins titles in football.
