Isn't everybody's recruiting history short compared to Brad Sewart? BTW, I'm very glad he is going to be a Yellow Jacket.
He reminds me of a very tough and productive receiver at Puke a few years ago; Conner Vernon. He was a very sure handed kid who found a way to always make a play on any...
Don't forget, this is the genius that always has GT finishing well behind everyone else in the Coastal Division. However, his best move was during the ESPN Bowl selection show last season when he had MSU as a LOCK to beat GT by more than two TD's and the Bulldogs were his 35th out of 36...
Obviously a smart kid who realizes the advantages of a GT degree. Also, that he has a much better opportunity to get to the NFL as a DB after being in a program that produces top notch WR's that he can compete against everyday in practice.
He has very good size and speed for a CB, and...
AS CPJ likes to say: "Show me don't tell me."
Players will step up just like they have every year under this staff. Freeman for Attachou; Allen for Dwyer; and the very best of all Justin Thomas for Vad Lee!
IMO the reason for the slow start the first of the season was that it took some time for JT to get a handle on this offense as remember; it was his FIRST year as the starting QB. By the second half of the season it was clear the lights came on faster and brighter than the Bat Signal in Gotham...
Putting all of the football aspects aside, I always thought the ACC had tougher academic requirements and was suprised when I read that the SEC had a bylaw that states it would not accept a transfer with academic shortcomings; i.e. his academic suspension two years ago.
Apparently either the...
@OldJacketFan:
What was more fun: Watching your son perform at the camps or when the folks at the "pay for recruiting sites" bestowed on him their 5 stars crown of achievement? Or were they not permitted to partake at an NCAA School camp?
Thanks for the information on costs and hope it all...
@Jacket Bracket:
Are these camps invitation only? Also, besides the travel costs and possible time off from work for the parents to drive to these camps is there also a fee for attending that has to be paid up front?
It all starts with the players recruited accepting the concepts of what the coaches instill as their offensive and defensive schemes. When you can get players like Adam Gotsis from another Continent to buy in, there is no excuse for any USA kid not to do the same.
I expect great chemistry...
The best part of the Gotsis recruiting story IMO was that it all came about because of a former player CPJ had at Hawaii back in the 80's who recommended that he take a look at Adam. These are the types of connections that show what strong relationships Johnson has developed over his 35+ years...
That is the type of attitude that Ted Roof is looking for in recruits. That is something a player either has or doesn't every time they step onto the field no matter whether it's a HS; College; or NFL game. That factor alone is why GT is goinig to be better on defense as the DC sets the tone...
@Architorture23: Quite the paradox based on what you wrote. Glad to hear you did enjoy the OB win except for the performance by the defense.
You might want to consider how a current GT defender would interpret your comments given that you called out their "But 600 yards and 34 points..."...
@Techster: You are spot on about Simmons! He had close to 30 QB sacks in HS playing DE at 210 Lbs. I remember him mauling some RB in the NC State Game and can't wait to see him in 2015 after putting a little more meat on that frame as I believe he was also a WR for his HS team.
This kid is...
@Architorture23:
We beat them (Miss State) because GT had the better team. Frankly, nobody in the NCAA is playing defense these days like the 85 Chicago Bears or the "Steel Curtain" teams from Pittsburgh circa the 70's. Using your analysis no doubt the entire MSU offense went out for a steak...
