Have to disagree on the punt return coverage. There was no lane running and no containment. Virtually every player converged very quickly to the ball. No lane running or containment discipline.. I don't know whether it was poor coaching (preparation) or lack of player discipline, but either way...
I agree because it is NOT between 10 and 2 o'clock. It reminds me of the long TD JeT run against VT that was flagged for a block not being 10 to 2 (very similar angle to this one).
You are right, but on occasions when the D shifts to our overload we sometimes counter and have a shorter path with the QB keep or pitch to get outside on the weak side, so the proper D adjustment can also work against you when CPJ is on his game (which is a lot).
The tight end you circled is not eligible as he is "covered up" by the WR. The LOT is eligible unless there is another WR not in the picture covering him up.
I was looking to see who was the outside contain on the punt coverage. There was none of course. The starting DB on the end of the line chased all the way to the other sideline straight to the ball with no intent of contain. If he was not the contain person then nobody else stepped up. But to be...
ATT parking deck B (4th and W Peachtree) is $5 and a 13 minute walk with the Varsity virtually on the way. You can get a parking pass on line from Parking Panda.
My uncle was career Air Force and lived all over (Alaska to San Antonio and NY to Calif). He once told me the 3 years in Lincoln was his worst assignment, and he retired in San Antonio. He was raised in Birmingham and lived off and on in Atlanta. His second choice to live was Alaska but not when...
If safety is the issue then the safest situation is when all players are closer to the same size. As far as the issue of penalizing the big guys, the current system penalizes the small guys. The tradeoff seems to be to drastically change the game with rule changes (difficult to consistently...
I would prefer to start with a weight limit. The current game gives incentive to healthy 220# players to bulk up to 300#. The game would be safer and faster (more exciting) with smaller quicker players and there is a bigger selection of them.
Maybe. Gantt will be competing next year for the fourth AB spot with Jarrett and maybe Mason. Unexpected injuries or attrition could change things. Gantt could be used earlier for receiving and wide plays until he muscles up enough to be a dependable blocker. I am pulling for him but do not...
Look at the last play at the 7 second mark. Clearly number 46, Gantt, started the play at the right AB. No doubt from the film unless somebody else is wearing #46.
Gantt may have been in there with Jarrett on the last series. He came in around 164#s as did Jarrett but is a year behind in growth. I believe Jarrett is around 175#s now. It is hard to block at that size, especially when competing with the 190# ABs who have 3+ years of technique and weight...
I agree and maybe #40 would have blown that play up also. We tried a necked bootleg with MJ and the other DE/OLB, I believe #48, blew up that play. I agree that "some good players" and "well coached" are good descriptions for the Jax D.
I appreciate your enthusiasm as a GT supporter. We have some close relationships in our family. In my case I have two brothers-in-law and two sisters-in-law that are UGA grads. My daughter and I are GT grads and one son-in-law is a sidewalk GT fan. We occasionally go to games together and pull...
