Well obviously the main reason of the game would not be to attract California recruits (Though Lucas Johnson says hi) but rather to create a Name vs Name OOC game early in the season and to get a National TV time slot for it thus increasing GT's recognition and overall name brand.

So each sport has a lot of non uniform clothing. Shirts, warm ups, compression sleeves, etc etc. the way deals are structured the school gets a budget for “clothing and equipment” or what the kids call Swag. Once you exceed your budget you then have to buy the clothing from the provider...

ifyou're a fan of college football in general I highly recommend reading the opening paragraphs to a lot of the teams. They give a good snapshot for everyone who isn't a die hard fan of them.
