Howard for most games
we may go small and move to sturtevant or Maxwell for some games with a favorable matchup or if Howard isn't everything we hope he is
IMHO the logic would be that TV money would make some of the non conference "pre season" tournaments still viable as you could create a mini bubble for the teams in the pre-season NIT or Atlantis - group tourneys in a single location - and run them like the article suggests in a mini bubble...
Congrats to James. From what I can tell he should make over a couple of hundred grand and probably have room and board covered.
Not bad at all. Glad he got it locked down.
I don't think he is going to be an uber explosive or "physically punishing" player :) I think he can be a really good crafty driver and shooter - potentially to all ACC level. Agree on the turnovers but IMHO that is him trying to do too much - getting too far into the defense where he doesn't...
Shows how thin the coaching tree at UNC is at the moment. But still a top level job so they will have some elite options. I don't see another Daugherty fiasco and Bubba Cunningham isn't a UNC homer. Probably right it won't be an in house hire unless Roy stays 3-4 more years.
What I want to see in Kenny Anderson operating in space with no help coming from the 2, 3 or 4 defensive positions. Either Kenny or Favors would average 35+(y):)
The Duke response was ungodly tone deaf. However, the concept that the SEC is going to ram this through their infrastructure and offer a NIL support center to facilitate contracts to recruits in the recruitment process is still reality.
Just to pick a bit - I thought his comment was "on defense" effort was more important than scheme. And assuming that you are at least competent with scheme I agree with him - for defense. Whatever scheme you run requires the second and third rotations, help/recovery, rebound etc. that is all...
I may be missing someone in my memory banks but right now there really isn't a huge UNC coaching tree out there. So if they want to stay in the UNC tree then Hubert makes as much sense as anyone I can think of off the top.
NCAA seems to put a lot of weight on knew OR SHOULD HAVE KNOWN. I don't think they ever really directly pinned the strippers, etc. on Pitino but they blasted him on the "should have known" part. IIRC same with Boeheim. There is going to need to be some really good paperwork in the compliance...
IMHO we will see Moses at the 5 for more than 5-10 min per game. If Saba can play 20 min for an ACC game that is a great upside and I will love it. But if Howard isn't eligible our strength will be on the wings and we will have to play very differently than we have the last several years with...
As an aside, the Big East of the 6 foul days was really "unique" in the way they constructed their teams and officiated their games. It was really hard to play on the front line unless you had some resemblance to an NFL tight end. And Jordan rules before the Pistons picked up on the concept...
