I can't find the reference, but pretty sure uga was calculated at 99.99% chance of winning against Tech in 2014 when they scored to take the lead with 18 seconds left.
Team talent composite is not a very useful metric for measuring anything even remotely detailed. If players were rerated every year it might be a little better, but as it stands, everything is based on their high school ratings which we all know are regularly wrong, sometimes by a lot. Guys like...
That doesn't mean they show up. I don't think Syracuse had more than 500 fans in attendance on Saturday.
That being said, the 5 year averages are all impacted heavily by the 2020 Covid season. Different schools had different policies in place that are going to throw the numbers off by a good bit.
Bowers, McConkey, and Thomas all have varying degrees of injury at the moment. They are going to have to rely on backups some, although their backups are 4/5 star guys.
7-9 wins next season including the bowl game, but 2025 we should be 9-11 wins with the bowl game - Clemson and ugag are the only powerhouse teams that season, everyone else is very beatable. Possible ACC Championship appearance. Possible Playoff appearance...
How full would you say the Miami game was? ESPN lists Hard Rock's capacity as 65k and says attendance that game was 58k, which, except for UVA which was also listed about 58k, is their highest all season by at least 10k fans over every other home game they played.
Win the bowl game to finish 7-6 and play very well/beat FSU in Ireland to start next year, and the attendance will increase a little bit, but Key is going to have to win 8+ games before the more fairweather fans start returning in bigger numbers.
I think you have to have a lot of confidence that the other team won't house one or more of the kickoffs and that you can cover, which is not something I would say about Tech.
Also, on the early interception, I know everyone around me thought the flag was going to be for PI since it looked like the DB pushed Singleton to go for the ball. Was that not the case?
Yes. I ride MARTA almost every game, including after the UNC game, and it was packed full of Tech fans going North. If you switch off the red/gold lines it might be a different story.
