My impression was that he was trying to get to the outside, not the sideline. That said, I agree that the first down was a sure thing had he kept going behind that block.
I too have fond recollections of how exciting those Homecoming weeks were. Just the thought of all the old codgers coming back to campus were enough to get the students worked up into a frenzy. All those frat parties on campus were set up to serve as a magnet to get alumni back on...
I also took statics from Dr. Hyland Chen (twice, as a matter of fact). One of my most noteworthy accomplishments at Tech was my C average for that class.
Is it just me or have we changed adjusted our blocking techniques? I know that we are still using cut block techniques but it seems that we are more frequently own our feet engaged with the defender? What say you five?
