  1. Conference Realignment

We used to be forward-looking. Personally, I thought we hit a home run in '92 with FSU, and then '04 and Miami and VPI. After we added Miami, which I think was announced in 2003, right after they'd played for a national title and only a few years after VPI had played for a national title, I...
  2. Conference Realignment

It could be that Batt is just playing it smart, and not tipping his hand on quiet discussions. Or....it could be that Batt is just willing to ride it out in the ACC, because we might not have any other choice. Maybe he's just pro-ACC.
  3. Re-Watched some old wins on YouTube....

Which bowl was it where we mauled a G5 type team under Gailey? Tulsa? I need to rewatch that, because the main thing I remember is our defense hitting their QB over and over and over.
  4. Conference Realignment

I work with a few Tech grads. Of the group, I'm the only one that follows the football program. The rest of them couldn't care less. It's kinda sad in that regard.
  5. Conference Realignment

I have to say that when we added Miami and VT, I think 12 years after we added FSU, I thought that we'd hit a home run and that the ACC was going to be an absolute powerhouse conference. Remember, when Miami was announced as joining, they were only one year beyond their 2001 national...
  6. Conference Realignment

My guess is that NC State and VPI are stuck with us in the remainder of the ACC. I think that Clemson & FSU certainly are leaving into the P2. Not as sure on UNC & UVA. But I think UNC will be welcomed by the P2 if they want to leave, and might drag UVA along with them. Really, beyond...
  7. Conference Realignment

So, what is our "worst case"? I'm wondering if it's being stuck in a conference with mostly small'ish fanbase private schools, and a few other public schools. Maybe the leftovers of the ACC are the following: Tech, Duke, Wake, Miami, Syracuse, BC, Pitt, SMU, Stanford, Cal, Louisville....maybe...
  8. Re-Watched some old wins on YouTube....

Yes, I plan to watch Syracuse, then UNC, then UCF. Then, I might dip back into some of the best wins from CPJ, GOL, and Chan. They all had some good moments. It's great to see the program moving back up and being competitive. It's been a long time in the wilderness.
  9. Re-Watched some old wins on YouTube....

I've been killing some time recently watching 2023's wins: So far, I've hit Wake Forest, Miami("in the thick of the night", LOL), and Virginia. Next up for me is Syracuse. But also, I've been enjoying a few games we had in 2018. Go back and stream the 2018 Louisville game. The Brian...
  10. Conference Realignment

Actually, it did de-emphasize our rivalry. It's still a big rivalry, but not as big as it was when we were in the SEC. And many Georgia fans don't consider us their biggest rivalry. We certainly consider it our biggest rivalry by far. But Georgia fans don't. Honestly, I'd love to get back...
  11. Conference Realignment

It's a neutral-site game. And if you have 9 games within your 10-team group, it harder to schedule outside that group with a neutral-site game. Also, the SEC would want that game helping to decide who wins that division with Georgia, Bama, Tech, etc. If you split Florida & Georgia, you...
  12. Conference Realignment

Because the SEC is one of the two conferences that holds the cards in all this re-alignment talk, and they're not going to bust up one of their largest rivalries in order to be thrown in with teams from the B12 & ACC.
  13. Conference Realignment

So, I seriously doubt the 70 team format as "leaked" is a real thing. But if it is, we need to increase the size of our stadium. If we're in a conference with UGA, Bama, Auburn, LSU, Florida, and Tennessee, sellouts will be the least of our worries. But I don't see any conference set-up that...
  14. Conference Realignment

Not sure if I believe CW Lambert, as I have no information and he's just a guy rambling on twitter. But let's assume for a second that he's correct. If Clemson & FSU go into the SEC, then the B1G has to turn to other Southern-based programs to expand their footprint. And this could...
  15. Conference Realignment

Reading about all the conference re-aligment news over the last few years, it makes my head spin. All we can do is support the program, and hope that Key builds something that's competitive in whatever conference we're in. It could be that we end up being strong enough to warrant consideration...
