I feel the lack of TE's hindered the transition from 3O to any other offense. Modern offenses utilize TE's in motion and set up blocking and misdirections more often than most realize. However, now that i'm typing and thinking about it, a B Back could be used as a fullback/H-back. IDK
I've let myself imagine who could be a good coach for GT, but I think Key could be the best case scenario if he's able to get Tech to a bowl game this season. If this guy wins 4 more games, then hire him full-time.
It hasn't even been a year since he was fired. He's mentioned that he would like to coach again and UF is a different animal than Miss. St or GT for that matter.
He's won at a high level at Miss. St. at a place where it's difficult to recruit.
He develops Quarterbacks and a great QB can fill in a lot of other holes.
His offenses are highly successful.
His buyout from UF would allow GT to potentially get him at a lower salary.
I would like the idea of Deion being the next coach. Sometimes though coaching at a place you love and where you are loved can be a deterrent. Everyone loved Scott Frost at Nebraska until he started coaching there. Everyone will always love Peyton Manning at UT bc he will never be a coach there...
I'm curious as to who
Shane Beamer was also endorsed by a contingent of former players, and I don't know if that's going to pan out. I like the idea of Deion, but the right AD has to be hired and able to give him autonomy of the football program. I feel like the AA relinquishing some control...
Sims was promised PT as a recruit. It’s obvious collins doesn’t hold him accountable. Also, why punt or kick at all if u have no ability to coach special teams?
I agree with you bc I am basing it off the comment and I could be wrong for sure. It just seems like a situation where this is the scenario where the AD goes down with the coach because I feel there was the opportunity to make a change last season but he didn't and maybe things could turn around...
I think ADTS has done an admirable job overall, but unfortunately he tied his fate with Geoff's. I think that's the nature of the beast: AD's are ultimately judged by their football program.
