  • I thought I saw Justin Bryan make two good tough carries up the middle from BB. Swilling seemed ready but did not play. I did not see anyone get hurt but Davis was hobbling but it did not look serious.
Thanks to you I had a nice day. Hope the same for you.

Glad you enjoyed the scrimmage!! I had a day of putting in two new gutters and replacing a dryer vent. Now time for a drink!!!
Several good looking slant passes were completed, mostly from Byerly to Smelter.
Lots of freshmen played a lot and lots of bodies used in the OL. O'Reilly played RG for Mason on 1st team some and C on 2nd team. Easom F and Whitehead played near the end a lot. Merriweather also made a big hit.
. Most offensive yardage came off the edge or midline. There were several short dump off passes that were effective. Zenon and Perkins looked the best at AB (Days did not play AB). Martenson looked the best at QB but Byerly played well and against better competition. L Griffin made a good pass interception by taking it away from Smelter. Earlier Smelter took one away from White.
Butker was good on 2 field goals and 3 PATS. Martenson engineered a long drive against reserves for a TD. His ball handling and 2 good passes were impressive. Laskey sat out. I could not tell whether Days or Leggett at BB was wearing #10. Wilson and Connors ran hard but did not break any long runs. The D was tough in the middle, especially the D1 and D2 DTs.
Thanks heaps for the voucher. Weather was overcast but dry. Took my daughter, grandson, and son-in-law. J Thomas only played a short first series. I talked to him afterwards. He is not injured. Byerly played a lot early and threw some good looking passes to Smelter and Zenon. Eventually Byerly broke a 50 yard run. . Jordan only completed one pass. He was high.. He did some good running for tough short yards.
Hey Nuke, what did you do in the Navy?

I worked at Naval Reactors headquarters (subs, CGNs, CVNs) before going to a field office. I still do work with them.

You Navy? My son (in the avatar) is a USMC F18 NFO.

Not me, but my best friend (consider the guy my brother and fellow tech fan) just got his wings. He's in SD flying the MH-60S Knighthawk. Your son must have no fear getting into an F18. Pretty awesome.
