Allen could be an impact player from Day one. The bring along slowly does not apply if the Freshmen is a really good player. Hopefully Allen is as good as his rating HS rating. If he is truly a Top 50 player he should see plenty of playing time early.
Allen is not currently considered a Top 50 recruit.
He fell on the end of season rankings.

Composite is around #75.
I still expect him to play a fair bit, but I am not expecting him to be an instant starter. Needs to improve his shooting.

Muldrew looks like a nice 'take a chance' player after he finished relatively strong playing in the best P4 conference.

His last 8 games were very solid. Avg 22 mpg with 6.6 ppg, 3.8 rpg, 2.9 apg (3.3 a/TO ratio) on 50/25/67 shooting splits.
His assist/to numbers suggest he might be able to play PG. On a per 40 min basis that is 5.2 apg.

At worst he should be a rotation player this year, probably able to back up both guard spots. Needs to work on his 3-pt and FT shooting.

Yes, this looks like a good final addition to the team. I think we will see him get some decent playing time.

Good info. Reasonable assessment of his role. Hope he is a breakout player.

Just adding that he said to be a very strong defensive player as well. Creates a lot of havoc with his energy.

I think kurucs and muldrew will be two under the radar sneaky pickups. I think they will be very impactful

Kurucs's lateral quickness and explosiveness in small spaces intrigues me. His ability to find an opening in heavy traffic and explode to the basket is crazy good. It's a feature that Euro big men have...possibly from a soccer background as kids? Most European kids grow up playing soccer first so they have an understanding of finding creases and leveraging that opening to get by defenders. If Kurucs can translate it to college basketball, and if our guards can find him....Lob City! I think he can be a weapon in Pick and Roll situations.

I said earlier that Muldrew might be the steal of this transfer class. I'm sticking by it.

For someone like me that has no idea about his game (Muldrew), would you trade him to get Mustaf back?

I'm high as heck on Muldrew, but I'd take Mustaf back over Muldrew any day. That's not because I don't think Muldrew won't fulfill his potential, but it's because I think Mustaf can be a high level player quicker. We saw first hand what he can do at this level, versus a bigger projection for Muldrew. Kind of the "devil you know" theory. Even when he was a freshmen here, I thought Mustaf had a really high ceiling. He has position versatility, can defend, can score, and he was one of the few players that actually gave a d@mn when the season was circling the toilet. What we saw in the second half of last season from Mustaf was a glimpse of the player he can be. IMO, he's a guy that can give you 15+ points/6-8 rebs/3-5 assists a game, and his frame and athleticism makes him a good multi position defender. He gets to by defenders and to the basket easily, though he does need to work on his finishing at the rim. He needs to work on shot some, but all the tools are there for him to become an All Conference level player.

When Cross came in, I said there was only 3 players I cared to bring back. Mustaf and Ndongo were 1A and 1B, and Fleming was the 3rd player. Given Cross's history with developing talent, I really thought Mustaf could blossom under the new staff. He probably would have been our best overall player, and with some REALLY good guards in Garland and Whitlock, it would have given Mustaf more space and freedom to play to his talents. For me, it's more a matter of Mustaf being closer to development maturity versus a flash of great talent display from Muldrew the last portion of last season at Washington. It's a balance of getting help right away, versus nurturing a plant to pick the fruits down the road.

IMO, if you look back at Cross's development of guards, and given Muldrew's frame and athleticism, he is going to be REALLY good here if he takes to coaching. There's certainly a lot of filling in the blanks and projection when it comes to player development. Once Muldrew started getting consistently more minutes, he blossomed for Washington. He's guard that can rebound, and he also takes care of the ball. Even though I would have liked for us to have Mustaf returning, I'm also excited to see Muldrew develop and play with Garland and Whitlock next season.

Didn't realize he was even entered.

I hadn’t realized it either but it makes sense for players to do it if they have designs on possibly going to the NBA because it’s basically a free evaluation and they tell you what you need to work on to have a better chance. I think you can do that twice and be able to go back to college as long as you do it by the ncaa deadline which was May 27 this year.

Muldrew's last 5 games are where a lot of the hype for him is coming from. In those games he averaged 8.4/5.5/3.8 on 48/20/77 shooting.

Mustaf averaged 10/4/2.5 on 43/39/73 over the entire year last year. Comparable numbers but over the course of an entire season, and better shooting (from three point range).

However, if you do the same thing with him and look at only his last 5 games his numbers are 16.8/5.4/3 on 46/23/88.

You absolutely take Mustaf over Muldrew at the moment. Mustaf is more proven, and if he was here, he'd almost certainly be slated as a starter and probably viewed as no worse than our #2 option. Muldrew gives us another good back up guard who we hope can develop into starter caliber player for next year and beyond. If Mustaf was a senior it'd be a bit more interesting as a question because you would have the long term potential vs the superior short term dynamic. But as is, we're kind of hoping that Muldrew follows the development path that Mustaf was already a year ahead on.

That being said, I still like Muldrew and think he should help us a lot.
