Does it really matter what type of scholarship the kid stays on to get a degree? Is there a difference between athletic, medical, staff or academic other than some have a burning desire to disadvantage our coaching staffs in any way possible so they can claim elitist status?

I believe each kid is promised an OPPORTUNITY to play football and pursue a degree. How we get there short of blatantly or substantially violating a rule is ok by me. I understand this pisses off the clan that drives below the speed limit every day, comes to a full and complete stop all the time, tells their wife the exact way they feel about hot women walking by, have never committed a sin, never left work 5 mins early without deducting from their pay or swiped a company pen and has never had an impure thought.

I’m going to keep driving 70mph in a 55 when it’s safe and I’m in a hurry, keep doing the California roll at stop signs, I’m going to tell my wife of 35yrs she’s hotter than the others and her butt has not gotten bigger, my late work will compensate for when I leave early on occasion, I’ll pray for forgiveness and I’m keeping my pens. Shoot me for being a disgusting member of society and make me sit in the bad GT fan section for all of eternity. I’ll forever admire those of you that are as pure as the driven snow.

Oh yeah, I’m telling my Priest to keep whorehouse money!

For those who did not know, and that included me until this morning, i could not figure out how if we averaged 10 leaving a year, and I don't doubt that, our graduation rate could be 90%. Apparently, if the student-athlete leaves while in good standing they are removed from the former school's roster and added to the new school. Just FYI in case anyone else was wondering.

How can you separate the two? So a sexual assault cover up is only a stain on Mich St and Baylor sports program and not the institute?

I have yet to see anyone say they will stop supporting GT bc Pres Bud Peterson and friends improprieties, but will do so because scholarship not being renewed to those who are caught in transition or no longer a fit due scheme change or being position-less

For CGC to put Wells on scholarship, he obviously knows the other player that is leaving. I would assume King, as I doubt we'd carry 3 specialists on scholly, but that's a complete guess. Let's hope we don't have anyone else leave beyond this last player. But given history, I would expect a couple more.

Yup. There are still several more that I've had my eye on like him (ZM) too. JB, XG, LJ, BT, TW. Even JL, CB, OJ, PH, JC, and GB I'd keep my eyes on...although I wouldn't bet much money on any of them. I wouldn't wish anybody to leave or to have to leave, but so far they are all falling in the bucket of folks we should be watching.

I never pretended any such thing. But for some, it could effectively amount to the same thing, for financial reasons.

It’s almost impossible to not qualify for a student loan. And assuming less that 4 years with a Tech diploma paying it off shouldn't be a big deal.
