What does this mean regarding the scholarship we were holding for Jaylen Brown? Could this imply that a current player may be leaving thus freeing up a scholarship?

I've been scratching my head wondering why we weren't more involved there.

Nice addition.. He has shown he can score the ball in the ACC. 42% three point shooter..

Come on doooooown.

Yay CBG! An excellent addition. He knows the league and has been playing on this level, is an excellent 3 pt. shooter and is local. Good move. So is there a scholly for Tyler Harris should he visit and want to play here? Is Bolden leaving or coming back?

Tyler Harris is currently on his visit here according to Adam Zagoria, which likely means (a) the staff didn't see the Adam Smith thing coming or (b) Bolden will be leaving

This is a very strong sign Bolden is gone.
In ACC games Adam avg 14.8 ppg and shot 41% threes. He is a shooting specialist, won't help you much elsewhere - but his specialty is something GT desperately needs.
Also, he didn't start all the games at VT, but played starter min - so if you want to bring him off the bench, he should be able to handle that.

I think they fully knew they might get Smith - so I think there is still an offer for Harris. If they somehow pull Harris, they are really adding alot of solid offensive players with Smith, Jacobs and maybe Harris.
Neither Cox nor Sampson were known as big offensive players - these guys are.

Wow. Nice pickup for us. It will be really nice having a legitimate 3 point threat again.

Umm, isn't it usually fairly easy (not completely easy) to take away one shooter when that's all a team has as a threat from the outside? While this is a positive step, it is NOT the "solution" to GT's offensive woes, imho.

I am also not convinced this makes us a Tournament team next year, even if we get Harris as well. But then, I need for CBG to "show me" before I will believe.....

This is great news, but it adds to our recruiting "bubble" after next season. With Smith we will now lose five (MGH, Stephens, Mitchell and Bolden). Maybe Bolden is gone anyway, but that is still a lot of spots to fill, especially if CBG remains on shaky ground.

Our offense will be based mostly on inside play through Mitchell and Jacobs and penetration by Georges-Hunt and Jackson. If nothing else, having a legitimate shooter to complement those guys opens things up a little bit and prevents the defense from cheating too much. I'm not saying its a solution or will lead us to the tournament by any means but it does add a dimension to the offense that wasn't really possible last year. This guy made 50 more three pointers than anyone on our team last year.

Does anyone know the recovery timetable on MGH's injury? Seems that kind of got forgotten with the coaching change rumors in the offseason.
