I put the Duke game as the 3rd worst loss of the CPJ era.

Top 5 Worst Losses:
5. Air Force 2010 (7-14) - Independence Bowl, we should have had every physical and coaching advantage
4. @ Kansas 2010 (25-28) - terrible Kansas team finished 3-9 (1-7 in Big 12)
3. @ Duke 2017 (20-43) - bad Duke team, needed win to ensure bowl eligibility, got embarrased
2. UGA 2009 (24-30) - #7 Tech lost at home to unranked UGA in potential dream season
1. MTSU 2012 (28-49) - complete turd at home after crushing them two years in a row

Top 5 Best Wins:
5. FSU 2015 (22-16) - win over #9 FSU on homecoming on a miracle finish
4. Va Tech 2009 (28-23) - win over #4 Va Tech, establishing the Techs as dominant ACC Coastal rivalry
3. @UGA 2008 (45-42) - win in Athens over #11 UGA to stop huge losing streak
2. Clemson 2009 (39-34) - ACC Championship win over good CU team
1. Miss. St. 2014 (49-34) - dominating Orange Bowl victory over #7 Miss St

Thoughts?

Duke loss was the worst IMO. Maybe it’s just fresh but MTSU 2012 had our signals, UGA 2009 is a rivalry game so it’s always going to be a fight but yea it was pretty bad probably #2. Kansas 2010 was early in the season and we probably thought we were better than we were. Air Force 2010 was terrible but could easily chalk it up to just not wanting to be there.

This was not only a very bad Duke team but was needed for bowl eligibility, late in the season so nothing should’ve caught us by surprise, just came off a big win at home, and we are a fairly damn veteran team. We not only came out lackadaisical and unemotional, but got curb stomped by a very bad team to the point where we just laid down for the entire 4th Q and took it. It’s damn hard to think of a time I was more embarrassed to be a fan of this team. Again, not once did I see that 2015 team give up.

UGA 2008 gets my vote for #1

This same "bad" duke team could easily be 9-2 if like us, had bounces the other way. They also have a better win than us with Northwestern. 2014 uga should be a top 5 win

Kansas is BY FAR the worst loss for CPJ. That Kansas team won 2 games all year and even though we had lost Dwyer, Thomas, Burnett and Morgan from the 2009 team, that team still had more than enough talent to beat them easily.

I'm not sure I would even put the Duke loss in the top 5.

Best in no particular order
2014 Georgia
2009 Clemson - ACCCG
2011 Clemson
2009 Virginia Tech
2015 Florida State

Worst in no particular order
2013 Georgia (except this one...this was the worst, by far...)
2012 Middle Tennessee
2017 Duke
2010 Air Force
2010 Kansas

Honorable mention
2014 Georgia Southern (would have been the worst without that fumble)

2009 uga was the most damaging. 2010 Kansas, 2012 MTSJ, and 2017 Duke are the worst in terms of performance.

Gardner-Webb was also a near disaster.

2014 UGA has got to be on the list. Maybe my all time favorite win as a GT fan.

Good lists overall. I'd include losing to Duke at home in 2014 the worst losses category... but this one saturday felt worse than that one.

In 2008 we lost to UVA for Homecoming in a game we should have never, ever lost. That one would be on my list too. We were 6-1 at that point, and our only loss was a 3 point road loss to VT. That one was crushing for me to swallow because UVA just wasn't very good that year. We went on to beat FSU, Clemson and Miami later that year. Would have been a 10-2 regular season if we had won that game.

UGA 2014 was definitely a great win, but I would still rank UGA 2008 above it. We had lost 7 in a row in the series and UGA was about to tie (or break?) the record for most wins in a row in the series had they won that one. Nobody was picking us and, when we won, if felt like we really turned a corner with a new coach in the rivalry. (Of course we went on to lose another 5 in a row, but we didn't know that at the time.) Hard to separate any of the 2008, 2014 and 2016 UGA wins in my opinion. And I didn't want to include them all and have half the list UGA. Lol.

Also hard to separate the FSU 2008 (miracle on North Ave), FSU 2009 (shootout win in Tallahassee), and FSU 2015 (miracle on Techwood Dr.) games. I went 2015, but can see an argument for any of them.

My only thought is that the huge 2011 upset of 8-0 Clemson at Grant Field should be in there. We were a middling team that upset a high riding Clemson team that was about to become the first 9-0 ACC team since a Phillip Rivers NC State team. I forget what they were ranked about number 5 or so. Stunning upset that no one expected except Tevin Washington, of course.

2013 UGA was pretty bad but they had a great team and we were kind of middling so it was expected. I was pleasantly surprised we were able to move the ball on them as much as we did that day. That team was the best one UGA has had in this century except perhaps, the current one. We will see.

That’s a good one right there.

Do you mean 2012? They were 10-1 at the time. In 2013 we were both 7-4, and that UGA team was not one of the best.

Best wins
1. 2008 UGA - broke the long losing streak
2. 2014 UGA - holy cow, that was thrilling!
3. 2009 ACC championship game - wait, did that really happen?
4. 2015 FSU - I will remember this ending for the rest of my life. It's why you go to the games and not watch on TV.
5. 2009 VT - Beat a top 5 team.
6. 2008 FSU - Had we beat them in the ACC before this one? Miracle on North Ave.
7. 2016 UGA - Qua with the leap!
8. 2014 Orange Bowl - Big Stage, Big win.
9. 2009 FSU - Nesbitt steals the fumble.
10. 2009 Clemson - Fake FG OR 2009 Wake Forest - going for it on 4th down in OT OR 2011 Kansas - set yardage records

Worst losses
1. 2012 MTSU - Double stacked receivers in my nightmares
2. 2012 Miami - Up 36-19 in the 3rd q, Lost in OT when couldn't score TD from the 1 yd line on 4th down
3. 2010 Kansas - Still can't believe I flew out there to see us lose after being ACC champs
4. 2010 Independence Bowl - two dropped punts
5. 2015 Duke - Big disappointment after the great 2014 season
I should have done the losses first so I wouldn't be depressed now. LOL

Caveat. I only listed games I watched the whole thing. I didn't watch the first half of the game Saturday.
