Amazing it was most watched with 2 delays.
We got the same basic set up this week- watch GT or watch ND beat some flaccid team. Who you gonna watch?

The night game is da U and Louieville. That’s competition for most watched possibly.

The ACCN games Clemp vs Citadel & Wake vs WoofCrack are basically unwatchable because 90% of those watching CFB are not going to pay to watch ACCN.

Things will change next week as all the SEC wieners join the season and again when the Big whatever finally start playing in Oct.

Bottom line: We probably got the game with the most interest 2 weeks in a row. There’s a real opportunity for the program here to establish ourselves. Unblelievable considering damn near everyone was laughing at us a week ago.

A win on ABC on Saturday and there will probably be more national interest in GT football in any year since 2009. There’s a chance Tech plays in 6 nationally televised games this year. Who knows when the last time that happened was.
  1. Louisville @ home is already confirmed on Friday night for ESPN
  2. Clemson @ home will have a lot of TV competition. Other games that week include:
    • UGA vs. Alabama
    • Florida vs. LSU
    • Kentucky vs. Tennessee
    • UNC vs. FSU
    • UCF vs. Memphis
    • Oklahoma State vs. Baylor
    • Auburn vs. South Carolina
      • Obviously the TV schedule will be dependent on how well all of these are playing individually. But I would rather Tech get an afternoon/early evening national game than a primetime ACCN game
  3. Notre Dame @ home. Much fewer marquee games this week. Almost guaranteed to be national
  4. @ Miami. There’s a few good games here
Obviously the better Tech plays, the higher the demand will be for us to get better TV slots. And the B1G hasn’t released their schedule yet, so some of their bigger games could overlap with ours as well. Just excited for Saturday

This came up during media coverage of UCF HC Heupel. Don't think the phrase has any origins with respect to our program, but it sure would have fit.

Finally had a chance to listen to this interview. If you want to skip the UCF and other noise, O'Leary's comments re: Collins and GT start 8 min, 6 sec in. Couple quotes for the lazy:
  • "...they still have a lot of holes to fill to be a solid D1 team that can take on everybody that they need to take on to win championships, and I think Geoff knows that".
  • "...[GT under CGC] went out and like most good programs, UCF included in that, they got size, improved their strength programs and put on some size and strength up front. I think that'll make a difference and help them out this year as compared to last year where the line of scrimmage was 3-4 yards [wrong direction] on all their snaps"

Interesting article. Key takeaways:
  • Essentially all of UCF's top CBs either opted out or injured
  • Little depth at DT - opt outs and injuries
  • No decisions #1 go-to WR - different from prior 2-3 years
  • QB is not particularly mobile and crumbled in LY’s 3 losses (all road games) - especially when pressured
