Let’s just say that Kessler does want to go back home and get plenty of playing time, but still wants to be part of a more competitive roster. Why no Georgia Tech? These are rivals but not necessarily the same as Georgia vs Florida or Alabama in football, so the family may not be too opposed to this move.The Yellow Jackets are coming off an ACC Tournament win and NCAA Tournament appearance, thanks to the stellar play of reigning ACC Player of the Year Moses Wright. And like Kessler, Wright started his college career out slow before developing into a star. And with Mike Devoe likely coming back and a top-20 incoming recruiting class, Kessler can slide in at the five and continue where Wright left off.

LOL, such great journalism. Says he wants to go home but also be a part of a more competitive team. And yet at the same time they list Georgia has one of the two options in the title of the article. LOL.

If our seniors come back, and he joins, we're probably finishing in the top 2 and high chance to be the top team in the ACC. We're also probably challenging for a #1 or #2 seed in the NCAAT. Moses can go to the 4, and Kessler plays the 5...that's a top 5 front court and probably top 5-10 backcourt. We'll also be deep in terms of bench experience and ability to produce. He can play until his legs fall off at GT, and I think Saba and Howard will be ready to spell him for 10+ minutes if needed next year.
If Kessler wants to go home and be more competitive, I mean there's really no other choice for him if his words mean anything. Word is he's a Gonzaga lean, but that's on the other side of the country. He'll also have to fight for minutes like he did at UNC. UGA? LOLOLOL...Crean will work hard to find a way to waste his talents...and UGA sucks. Maybe he goes to 'Bama or Auburn and he'll definitely be close to home and more competitive, but GT gives him the best of both worlds. Maybe he waits and sees how it shakes out for us...but I wouldn't hold my breath.

FWIW, Dan McDonald talks about Kessler in his column today. He implies that Gonzaga is probably the leader. He also mentions MI, Auburn, and UVA as realistic options.

He's not coming back to the state of GA. His final 6 in HS were Auburn, Cal, Duke, Gonzaga, MI and UNC.
Notice it is mostly those schools that appear to be in the think of it again with Gonzaga considered the leader and MI, UVA, and Auburn as the chase group,
Every school he is being mentioned with is a school he took an official visit with in HS.
Gonzaga is looking at having one heck of a class this year. They just got a commit from the #1 guard likely headed to college Hunter Sallis, and are the favorite for the #1 player in the class, Chet Holmgren and have signed a Top 60 big man as well. Add in Kessler to that and that is easily the best group Few will have brought in on paper.

Pretty cool what Mark Few has been able to do out there at Gonzaga. Widely considered to be one of the "cleanest" coaches in the business.
Gonzaga has always been a winner, but now they're in the "elite" category. Win big, recruit big, rinse, repeat.

It's easier to win big, recruit big, repeat on the west coast because there is relatively less competition for recruits than in the east. John Wooden showed that---but it was even easier at that time because he could virtually guarantee recruits they would play in the Final 4 due to the smaller number of teams in the NCAA tourney and the regional setup at that time. The ACC only got one entrant, and you had to run the gauntlet of the ACC tournament, whereas UCLA had no real PAC 8 competition. Being a west coast mid-major like Gonzaga could be an advantage if you can get the win big thing going. Again, that's easier in the West Coast Conference than in the ACC.

They’re this eras version of Tark and Unlv in the 80’s to 91. A couple Final 4 trips and constantly in the Sweet 16 or Elite 8 before breaking through in 1990. I think this Gonzaga team is their 1990 Unlv team. Maybe not as talented but you get where I’m going. Lol
