[QUOTE="Techster, post: 779641, member: 360"] Going into this game, if you would have told me that we hold Hauser and Huff to 14 COMBINED points, I would have told you we probably win. Unfortunately, that's not what happened. We shot 36% overall, and 19% from 3. It's not like we didn't have good looks...we had PLENTY of good looks. Moses was 4/11 overall, and Devoe was 1-10 overall. That's the game. They both took good shots, Moses especially with his aggressiveness going to the basket, or with his post moves. Shots just were not falling for us. I can't remember many instances where I thought Devoe took a bad shot, or had a bad turnover....he only had 2 TOs against UVA, which is good for him. If both of them make 2 more shots each, we win the game. Our defense probably played one of its best games of the year, outside of a game turning 3-4 minutes towards the end of the 2nd half. We had 8 TOs compared to UVA's 17 TOs. UVA had 5 offensive rebounds compared to our 3...so it's not like UVA had a lot of 2nd chance points. Usher was VERY dynamic this game. He showed some creative shots this game to go with his usual athleticism. IMO, he didn't shoot enough this game, and he was flat out abusing Hauser all game. I thought he should have went at UVA more, but it seemed he kind of deferred more in the 2nd half. He got to the foul line 5 times...most of our players. If Usher is on, we need to ride him until the gas tank is empty because he has become a legit weapon for us. Bubba...man he made some outstanding plays for us. Lots of the little things that help us. That one sequence where he scored and went down the other end stole the ball was phenomenal. Another good night for Jose, and really the only thing you can complain about with him against UVA is his 4 TOs and "only" 1 steal. That shows you how high the bar for Jose we have for him...he's just that good. Obviously, VERY disappointed in the outcome. If we make a few more shots, this is a win. We couldn't play much better on defense than we did. Time to turn the page. We've got a LONG road ahead the next two weeks. EDIT: I'd also like to add, all this negativity towards Devoe is kinda crazy. I think I'm pretty critical of some of the things Devoe does (like picking up his dribble!), but Devoe is one of the best players in the ACC. He had an off night...like pretty much all of our players have from time to time outside of Jose. You can't compare our players to Jose, because Jose has become a transcendent player for our program.
