I understand why some of you don't like noon starts, and they are certainly lower profile. But, for the record, our head coach loves them. He has said he'd play the games at 8 a.m. if they'd let him. Cooler, more time to recover afterwards.

Personally, I like them, too. I don't have to wait around all day. Let's play ball!

The broadcasters are trying to have a nationally (or regionally) attractive game in every time slot. Want better time slots? Increase GT's attractiveness to people outside of georgia.

Whiteout Game

I really wish that we would get home games that kick later than 1 pm. Since CPJ arrived at Tech we've played 57% of our Saturday home games with kicks prior to 1:30 pm.
Additionally, 9/63 home games were on Thursday night.

Some quick data:

Total Home Games: 63
Thursday Home Games: 9 (all kicks at 7:30 pm)
Saturday Home Games: 54
Games kicked between 12:00-1:30: 31 (57.4%)
Games kicked between 3:00-4:00: 16 (29.6%)
Games kicked between 6:00-8:00: 7 (12.9%)

Early slot kicks per year (#/%)

2008: 2/40%
2009: 2/40%
2010: 4/67%
2011: 4/80%
2012: 1/14%
2013: 4/67%
2014: 4/67%
2015: 2/40%
2016: 5/83%
2017*: 3/100%

*only includes games withannounced kick off times

I believe the last conference home game which kicked later than 12:30 was FSU in 2015. The last 3:30 conference home game was, I believe, UVA in 2014.

UNC 2015. We actually had a decent kick off schedule that year. Sucks we lost all those games and now languish in anominity

I don’t see the problem at all. If you want other people to watch, do you really want to compete for viewers against Clemson-VT and Miss. State-Auburn (most likely night games) or Tennessee-Georgia and Vandy-Florida (most likely a 3:30 games)? Or do you want a noon slot with no one else to compete against? Personally I hate 3:30 kickoffs the most (probably because it’s 2:30 my time). Takes away practically the entire day.

Has anyone ever gotten a response from Todd? Emailed him several times about all the noon kicks and he's never responded.

It sucks, but IIWII. Win more, get better time slots. And it's not one season...you have to do it for a long time. TS has much more important stuff he should be focusing on.

I will say that I don't understand the noon kicks for games against FCS schools in the first two weeks when it's 95+ degrees out. Those games aren't even televised except on ESPN3. Seems like you could have a little bit more control over that stuff.
