I think the DNC is closer to imploding currently than the GOP is. The last two debates being a better indicator of it than anything thus far from the GOP.

Rancor over race issues though prevalent wasn’t the biggest issue though attacks on Biden have gotten a lot of attention.

A big problem for Dems is their stated philosophy to legalize illegal immigration and expand big government not only for citizens and legal immigrants but for the illegals as well. I think they misjudge the support of their base on these issues and fail to comprehend how bad their arguments for doing so will sound to that base.

Please don’t purposefully derail this thread or flood it with personal attacks for the purpose of having mods lock it. There seems to be a new sheriff in town applying rules differently than before.

Also, wrecks points to a failure in DNC Congressional leadership over this issue which could give further weight to the premise of this thread.

I think the current DNC primary debates remind me a bit of the GOP primary debates of 2012 and 2016. 2016 for the size of the field and the circus of the debates. 2012 for how the candidates seemed to be racing to the right and in the process I feel lost some moderates. Romney started off really moderate being the Governor of Mass. and I was really intrigued by him as a candidate BUT to win the primary he seemed to have to run to the right and I think he lost some of the moderates in the process. I mean, Rick Santorum was making a push at the end and just ran out of runway. We'll see if it plays out similarly for the Democrats. Though the other side of the coin is that if you look at the midterm election results then it looks far from DNC apocalypse

Im guess im not sure why one you think that getting new leadership will destroy the party, and two why you think you have any idea what the base of the Democratic Party thinks.

Romney basically stopped running with a lead (if you trust polls) in the last two weeks of the campaign.

That’s almost always true of midterm elections.

Main point is illegal immigration issues are imo far more divisive among the DNC base than the GOP base. Far more than the reasoning applied in the GOP apoc thread.

Yeah, midterms do tend to go against the President's party but this past one had uniquely high turnout. On both sides which makes it interesting.

And we'll have to which is more divisive within the party the illegal immigration issues you mentioned or.....Trump. Who is pretty durn divisive. It'll be a long 16 months

The DNC is nowhere near the apocalypse, it will shake out and the top 4 could all beat Trump

There was not a single person on that stage the last two nights who can beat Trump if he (she) maintains the policies that were expressed.

Have you convinced yourself that Trump can’t possibly lose the next election no matter who he goes up against?

A comment not completely off logic from you. Surprising. Trump can certainly lose. The country is very politically divided. The majority of the populace by a slim but widening margin desires a welfare state. No conservative will have an easy go of things if that doesn’t change because the DNC will provide that welfare state quickly as soon as they are able.

Trump has another problem. Some who ideologically agree with him are reluctant to express that as support for him for a couple reasons imo. One is because of his ego and tendency toward juvenile insults especially on social media. The other because of social fear of being labeled a racist bigot (either for being conservative in general or a Trump supporter specifically).

Never mind that labeling conservative thought as racist is worse behavior by far than any of Trump’s insults. If a large portion of people who support your ideas are reluctant to support you personally....you have a political problem come Election Day.

Now how big a number is this silent “support?” That’s the important question. The other important question is will they silently vote despite their reluctance to vocalize support?

I dunno. I greatly underestimated how well conservatives were embracing his antics his first time around.

I actually feared that Biden would be able to beat Trump and hated seeing him enter the race. But I am not convince now that Biden will even get the dim nomination. I think Trump will be able to handedly beat any avowed socialist, and there sure do seem to be a lot of them among the dims candidates. When I see 25,000 people show up for a rally for any of the dim candidates, then I will worry. So far, I think the largest crowd at any dim rally has been less than 1000.

Was that in CA? If so, wonder how many were illegals. Bet she can't duplicated that in the midwest. Trump does it regularly, just about anywhere he goes.

Comical, since you have convinced yourself that Trump is SATAN and just about any brain dead lib will beat him.
