The unfortunate effect of the 24 hour news cycle. CNN will talk about that and Fox will talk about Hilary's emails. Need something to fill the time. And unfortunately fear mongering gets higher ratings than a reasoned balance discussion of issues.

Well someone that’s insane & in a position of power within the Justice Department ordered the investigation, another group of insane people followed along with it and lastly some group of insane people filed an official report. Nobody who was aware of this whole fiasco thought anything was wrong with that. That’s a lot of insanity.

This probably isn't good for Trump if proven to be true. But if BuzzFeed got this wrong then they will be in trouble.

You’re right - if Trump is found to be obstructing the law or abusing his power, even if not illegally according to the law, it’s not good. But Buzzfeed has been wrong a ton before (and badly), they’ll be okay either way.

I will point out though this reporting is about pre-election meetings and business dealings. If it’s post election meetings, then that’s a problem. If it’s all pre- it’s a non-story. They did a sneaky job of conflating the two in this article.

What happens when Naughty Nancy never even brings impeachment proceedings against the Maniac? 2020 will be a very interesting election cycle. I think her political move will be either never having impeachment proceedings because she likes having the Maniac distracted by all the legal maneuverings which prevents him from pursuing/passing his agendas or will pull a move like “let’s let the people decide” in 2020. I’m guessing it’s actually a combination.

We seemingly have more worthless crap in the swamp than ever before if that was even possible.

It feels like when UNCheat got caught, everyone in the world saw it, but nothing happened. The fake counterintelligence operation by the FBI, DOJ, and Intelligence Services was discovered, complete with spies embedded into the Trump campaign...tons of people were demoted and fired...and yet here we still are, in a 24 hour news cycle of Teump being a Russian Agent as of all of that didn’t actually come to light.

And this is why Trump is popular, the media in this country, especially enjoys certain rights that many other countries do not even provide their citizens. Is it really to much to ask that they confirm the story before going to press with it ?

If it’s wrong it does nothing but undercut a sitting president if right it’s a clear violation of law by Trump but it’s also a potential violation of law by the leakers and it damn sure impunes any attempt at due process.

Yep, Mueller's office is already denying the claim. Guess this is the beginning of the end for poor old buzzfeed.

Too late. Naughty Nancy and Chuck the **** have order a throng of nasty lawyers to conduct a thorough and aggressive investigation. This could go on for years. Investigate someone into bankruptcy, threaten their family members and charge them with made up crimes and they’ll eventually breakdown and admit guilt.

So sad how far astray the media is willing to lead the people of this country.

I think the media is responsible for 80% of our problems. Politicians play to the media not our citizens. Blame and enuindo are fact and factors. We are being trained to hyperventilate over false stories and hyperbole. If anything needs to change it’s truth in reporting, it should be against the law to report unverified “facts”

Or, the news companies could fire terrible reporters.

So you have a law that says you can’t report unverified facts. Trump gives a long winded bloviating speech - what do you report? LOL.

Technically you are correct. His college was for profit. Proceeds did get intermingled in his charities before it was shutdown. Here is a little refresher for the Red Hat crowd:

Again the irony in not being able to have a charitable organization(with writeoff in your home state), but has the power to destroy a country.

No President has the power to destroy the country - none ever have. The power of the president is limited and congress has shown this to be true. Without Congress the president is blocked on any legislation, he could be the most incompetent person on earth and it’s proven, Congress can stop what he try’s to do. The democrats have sued Trump over every substantial EO he has written and judges have decided national policy. Republicans messed up the repeal of OBama care so badly (intentionally I think) that Trump can’t follow through on that promise and The Wall ? He can’t even get 5 billion for that.

This started under republicans when they harassed Obama to the extent they did and I’m afraid it will happen to all presidentsto varying degrees from now on.

You will never have news companies firing reporters for generating high ratings and millions in commercial revenue.

If Trump gives a speech full of BS the news should report the speech - the fact is it would be true to report he gave it, it is our responsibility to part take in our country enough to know what the hell he is talking about.

We do not need a profit based “news outlets” interpretation of what the speech means. Thetein hides the real lies. CNN will report a totally different fact pattern than FOX will, both are slanted and full of misrepresentations.

When for example Trump says that there were trouble makers on both sides in Charlotte - that is an absolute truth. When the media tells us that Trump is a racist for saying it - that’s an outright unknown and is not factual truth on its face, it opinion ! It is also very possible that the leader of our country is charged with protecting freedom of assembly, an absolute right. It’s also possible that a group of socialist leaning anti capitalist waded into a group of racist white supremist looking to fight. The media choose a side, one version, and reported their bias as fact.

The media’s constant lying is why we are seeing large masses of groups more frequently in the streets fighting, its why we argue on blogs, it’s why minorities feel under seige and why woman feel demeaned, why white men feel alienated.

Are there bad examples from every spectrum ? Absolutely. Are they a very small percentage ? Absolutely!

The media is the problem not the people

Who gets to decide what a verified fact is? You? I’m still wondering why there wasn’t this much crying about the media before Trump became president. His ability to brainwash you guys has been one of his more impressive feats in my opinion.

There was indeed this much complaining about the media. Has been for more than 2 decades. It’s just that Trump started the whole Fake News thing and he was the first major politician to make it a central point of most of what he says. So now it’s in your news when it hasn’t really been before - but it’s been in the news we read for a very long time.

Having the government regulate the media is not only unconstitutional but one of the worst ideas in the history of our great nation.

If people want to listen to BS media reports that’s their prerogative. This is a free country after all not the fascist socialist totalitarian regime some of our brethren want it to be.

So if I browse this forum from the time before Trump announced he was running, I will find several discussions about how the media lies all the time and they are fake news?
