Spring season sports to be granted eligibility relief

I assume this means relief from NCAA scholarship limits? Also need to redo the budgets now that ship costs, travel costs, etc are going up. P5 can likely handle it. I am not sure the rest of the NCAA can handle the increased costs. Will be interesting to see how this goes.

Basketball is not a spring sport This has nothing to do with hoops. It applies to track & field, lacrosse, golf, tennis, baseball etc.

Red mentioned no decision yet on winter sports. Not sure if that's purely conjecture or if it's actually being discussed?

The article mentions that no decision has been made on winter sports, which implies that is being talked about.

Well, this clarifies part of a challenge.

The next challenge is now all of our Freshmen, Sophomores, and Juniors get an additional year of eligibility - good for them. But that then affects how many scholarships everybody will have next year, and the poor high school kids coming out.

Should the NCAA just end it with this, or to find some happy medium, should they allow for 1 additional scholarship for each of the next 3 years? (or something like that)

The MLB draft is going to be much more of a crapshoot this year. They should offer a combine of sorts to get more data points into players.

Yeah plus for teams with reduced scholarships (like our's) what does this do to the net scholarships available?

They have so much to figure out, it is likely going to be a back and forth of information for the next few months.
