I'm really excited to see Height and the return of Yondjouen. That should help tremendously with the pass rush. Depth could be a problem - we'll need some guys to step up.
For the interior, I feel pretty good about Lockett and Biggers - the rest are question marks IMO.

I'm really excited to see Anthony "Scoota" Carrie this fall. With the offensive line returning 4 starters and having become a legitimate strength for this team, Carrie really has a great opportunity to shine. Haynes was a prodigy for us last year - now we add another back with some pedigree to the mix and this could really get interesting.

Seeing Leo Blackburn in the spring game brought back memories of seeing BeBe Thomas on the flats. Dude is built like a god - having him on one side and Singleton on the other is a nightmare. Add in the running game (with Haynes King's running ability) and our offense is really going to be something to watch. I can't wait for Dublin!

I think Gibbs will have a bigger impact on defense. Could be really good for us.

Depth on the DL and secondary are my biggest concerns. Hoping a couple of the true freshmen can come in and make an impact there

You must mean Jones or Marshall as I see no Moore on the roster at DL. Good overall list.

Very good list. Brown has been playing OT but his size and fit in the group looks good at OG. I do not know where his skills best fit. One of the transfer safeties may push Seymore. I believe 4 TEs will play a lot and 5 LBs (add Butler). Not sure about that 4th CB.

Oh the DL Moore I listed is Jason Moore who is back in the team. Solid depth piece
Really was a strong bull rusher who flushed qb towards Zion White , who made the play.

Hopefully our Strength Coaches and our more mature DL make a big leap, because LB is a crap shoot with Tatum projected at starter.

I would be pretty surprised if Tatum is the starter beside Efford, if so then great, hopefully the man who showed up against Syracuse is here to stay
It would be a very good thing if Tatum managed to play his way into starting. I've heard a lot of buzz about our LB corp - Efford, Lightsey (uga transfer), Hamilton (Louisville transfer), and Cruz have apparently been turning some heads.

Tatum has enough raw talent to be great, but he really struggled at times last year. I think Tatum has the skill set to be really good in Santucci's system if he can grasp the system and put himself in position to make plays. I just have my doubts that it will happen. He's on his 3rd set of defensive coaches...and it's hard to keep learning new systems.

Positive vibes for me this season include:
+ Our experienced and developed OL with addition of Rutledge
+ Haynes King and a bona fide backup in Pyron
+ Jamal's talent at RB with his physical transformation and the addition of Carrie to complement
+ Possible breakout season for Blackburn at WR and return of Rutherford
+ Harpring's addition at TE.
+ New defensive coaching staff with Santucci as DC replacing Thacker
+ Return of Yondjouen
+ Efford's play at LB and hopefully an improved Tatum, and the addition of Lightsey

I think Tatum came back after talking with Santucci and realizing he has a plan for TT’s abilities. Personally, I think a lighter, more mobile LB can be a big asset in the right system. Remember Brandon Watts?

I suppose we'll see in the fall. We need the entire defense to be much better than they were last year - especially the run defense. I have no doubt that the offense will good. If the D can improve, we could be a vastly underrated team.

If Santucci has a place for a 220 lb. missile, then TT can have a place. If he wants 240 lb. tanks, TT may end up a backup LB or NB. He tends to play a 4-2-5, so TT may end up in a different role from last season. We’ll see.

Given Height and Coombs are in that 230 range for an OLB/Edge I do think we’re trending lighter. Fine by me. We’ll have our big heavy in the middle (Zeek), we’ll have a couple 240 lb ends, and the LBs are smaller and lighter in that 220 range.

And as a note, I’m not concerned at all about size. Even the NFL is trending smaller, the best LBs today like Roquan Smith and Fred Warner are 25-30 lbs lighter than Ray Lewis or Brian Urlacher for example. Same with DEs, with Bosa, Parsons, Watt, Crosby now in the 240-250 range instead of the 270-280s we used to see.
