I’d say on first part, the jury is still solidly out.
Now about the rumors who really knows there.
I’m not sure he is good at all. We saw no improvement from our pitching staff as we still finished dead last in the ACC in ERA. Our best pitcher was a true freshman who hasn’t had time for us to ruin him..

Schmidt is a good pickup. Buursema should work out for us well too. I have zero idea what the hell we were thinking when we took some of the other transfer pitchers that we’ve been taking

Certainly the walks were down quite a bit. However, on the flip side, the K-Rate was down and the homerun rate was up. The homerun rate being up was true for almost every team across baseball (if this continues next season something needs to be done, I favor additional bat limitations), but the K-Rate drop wasn't a good thing. Of course that decreased K-Rate was mainly driven by our best pitcher, Cam Jones, so maybe it isn't as bad as it looks at first glance.

Clearly a lot of work remains to be done to improve the pitching.

Ultimately we are trying to build a championship team off little brothers teams. We need transfers from quality programs with quality players if we want a run at Omaha. Even Burress can’t get those elite players to GT. As for the coaches and comments above, no doubt they have done some below the line things. Anyone with a distant or close connection to the team would tell you the same thing. The days of loyalty are over for coaches and players. I hate it, but that’s the truth.

This. If we start getting transfers from Tennessee or LSU then wake me up.

Is that 13 portal entries so far? Convince me we are building a winning culture.
If it’s true Ramsey is over the roster then I want no part in him being out next head coach. Clean house. Zero excuse to be recruiting top 10 talent and then squandering it because you start a 5th year transfer over the guy. I never thought I’d see the day where our basketball and football programs are better at roster management than our baseball program.

Possibly an academic stress related move. Kovala was developing well under Taylor's tutelage. Bad career decision on Kovala's part if the move isn't academically motivated.
I did consider that, especially considering his Juco move. He did seem to be coming along nicely and would have played a major role next year.

There does tend to be an assumption these are all ugly divorces & some sign Ga Tech baseball is the problem.

This is the new age folks. Free Agency. & it works both ways. Get use to it. Players who are great (or think they are) will seek greener pastures. Ga Tech baseball can (and has) taken advantage of that. As for the "kids" leaving. Only hoping the best for them.
