While I am disappointed I will not call out a player by name. The two individuals named in this thread are true GT men through and through and while I may harbor concerns about this team and think changes are necessary, I don't like calling out specific players.
I’m glad you said this because it’s a continual sore point with me because I don’t understand it.
I haven’t seen personal comments about either man in this thread I see football comments about football players.
I fully get the offensive nature that apparently have been posted to some of the players personal media and I oppose them vigiously but I simply don’t know how to talk about football without talking about players involved. At the minimum everyone who watched the game(s) know exactly who is the subject of any particular play.
Saying a player should be benched for a couple of series isn’t a personal comment, it’s a comment on his play.
How do you say that the offensive captain hasn’t won a road game, which is a fact, without every knowing that you are talking about TM ?
I get these guys are students but they aren’t made of paper.
How can all of us demand more fans, more involvement and better coaching without saying fans aren’t good and coaching is insufficient ? How do we ask fans to “support” the team but keep silent about the negatives for the sake of football players feelings ? Especially when a lot of these civil fans are monetarily supporting the team.
It’s really hard to talk football if we are only allowed to say a players name when he does good things. I think most of us have learned enough about football through our lives to speak on the need, for example, of having a QB that completes his passes or a OL men that knows the snap count and it not be considered a personal attack.
