Gibbs and every GT fan who sold tickets to UGA fans should be lauded for forcing change. That change has led to a new direction at the top with JBatt and 2 new coaches. If Gibbs, Choice, and Marco stay maybe we limp to another few wins and still stuck with that previous guy.

still think this is a bad take. Gibbs left for more money, more exposure, and a chance at a NC. Choice left for a ton more money. Coleman left for whatever reasons he left for. Your interpretation of them leaving as the proverbial “middle finger” is inconsistent with the actual data. Do you think Gibbs goes #12 overall if he doesn’t have the national exposure he got at Alabama? Probably not. How much money would #25 versus #12 be? I think Choice tripled his salary when he went to Texas. Bottom line, assistant coaches come and go. Players are going to continue to come and go.

I don’t think Coleman nor Choice would have affected our win total had they stayed. Hell, I doubt Gibbs affects the win total if he stays.

We can disagree all day. And that’s perfectly fine. Bottom line is everyone won. Choice made more money, Gibbs actually won some games, Marco didn’t get arrested for choking the previous guy, and GT finally woke up and fired TStan and that guy. All I care about are results. This is now Key‘s program to run. He can and should be judged after the UGA game. Hopefully, his performance along the way will keep our stadium from being over run with red.

That wasn’t the purpose of the post. It was to show how much great talent is sitting between 15-35 miles of Midtown Atlanta. You totally missed the point. Most of us recognize Gibbs.

Sounds like lazy journalism to put a completely unrelated picture on an article’s link. Maybe they should have highlighted the great talent sitting between 15-35 miles of midtown Atlanta in the thumbnail

Okay...assuming this chart is accurate, Gibbs got eight more carries and 180 more running yards at Bama than he got the year before at Tech. Total yds about the same.

Does anyone seriously think he couldn't have gotten those same yards at Tech in 2023? Or more...once TFG was gone?

So, he stays at Tech, achieves the comparable stats and probably gets drafted about the same. That's uncertain, but no, he doesn't have a ring after his year at Bama, does he?

BUT he would have been elevated to near mythic status in the annals of Tech lore (in the ring of honor just below Calvin Johnson). He coulda been a god, but now he's *just* another sub-1,000 yard back at Bama.
