We finish 2nd in the Coastal for the 7th time in the last 11 years. (2nd or better)

If Boston College beats Syracuse at home next week, we finish 3rd in the entire ACC. If Syracuse wins, we finish 4th overall. Pretty darned amazing. I hope we get a decent bowl game.

This has been an amazing season and it would be incredible for GT to finish 3rd in the ACC after starting out 1-3:cool::D:smuggrin:

Most of us look at football in a vacuum but the reality is it is *hard* to win football games if you're not a factory. And even if you're a factory it's hard (hello, USC-w, Florida, FSU, Miami, tOSU). The margin for error at GT is so slim; the fact that we've finished 1st or 2nd seven times is quite an accomplishment.

Tech is the last “non Factory” team to win the National Championship in football. It’s a shame that money determines success. Much better chance at basketball.

The problem is we can’t get the experts off the message boards and onto the sidelines. We could win 10+ games a season with a small fraction of the expertise that is amassed just on this single site!

LOL! It certainly does not appear that way. But in the NCAA tourney the best teams (or the richest) do not always win.

True. I was being facetious to a degree. But in general there are still factories in basketball - and I'd be curious to see just how widespread the disease has spread.

I am so proud of this team, everybody, coaches and players alike. Seasons like this are wonderful success stories that can be built upon. Obviously there was a ton of adversity. Whenever I see groups fighting together through adversity I get goosebumps. I would rather have won the games that we could have and been sitting here with a much better record, but I am still proud as can be. When I left after the Duke game, I was as discouraged as I could remember in a long time and really wondered where we were as a team. Time to take it to another level in a few days.

Those teams that play their best football in November are special. This GT squad is improving and peaking at the right time. Proud of what they accomplished. As CPJ said: "We're a pretty good football team if we don't turn the ball over."

THWG!
