So, I was thinking about the future of Lee and Thomas and what they could mean to the future of our passing game. That made me curious about what our passing TD numbers looked like the first five years under CPJ. Below are the number of breakdown of rushing and passing TDs for each of those years.

Year R P
2012 48 12
2011 45 11
2010 31 09
2009 47 11
2008 32 05

Aside from the first year and the anomalous 2010 season, we had around 47 rushing TDs and 11 passing TDs. Does anyone think either of these numbers (not just passing) are due for an increase this season?

I wonder if we can ever get to the 20 passing TD mark. If we do, it could also have an impact to our rushing TD numbers since that will likely mean the defenses will be more spread out having to honor an explosive passing game. I'm thinking we get around 15 this year.

Wow, that's a pretty interesting series with respect to how consistent those numbers/ratios are. I wouldn't be surprised to see the pass TD ratio go up some from about 19/20% to 25%. I say this because it looks like we've been practicing more screen passes, and I wouldn't be surprised to see our B-Backs taking it to the house once they get the ball in space.

Interesting break down. Would love to see the rushing# stay around 46-50 and get the passing# up to 18-22. If Tech can do that then the O is really clicking! Which would also suggest the D is improved giving the O more opportunities to score, the best of both worlds

The picture is a little different when you look at the numbers in conference:

Year R P
2012 36 8
2011 24 3
2010 12 7
2009 31 6
2008 17 3

(09 and 12 with one extra game)

And a little more exaggerated when you strip out Scott Blair's passing TD in '09.
