He is still in school. Plans to graduate and then play somewhere next year.

Good for him. Best wishes.

If he can't get playing time with us, he can be on the scout team or go somewhere else to play. Graduating is the way to go and then have fun playing somewhere else with his final year of eligibility.

Good for him... Surprised that he'd - give it up this year. But guess he figures if he's not going to play, why get beat up through out the semester on the practice field.

He never used his redshirt year...so he can basically do that now.

Right, but he chooses whether he uses it to help GT or not. Saying he's off the team suggests he's sitting out rather than helping.

Really liked his film coming out of HS...dude was a terror on film and all over the field. Kinda surprising he couldn't atleast transition to a pass rushing specialist with his frame and speed (was part of a 4x100 relay team that won the state championship). Sometimes it just doesn't work out I guess.

If I'm not mistaken, he actually started a game under Groh...then it was all downhill from there.

I think playing time (or lack thereof) was always a big issue for him. Surprised he stuck it out this long, probably to get the GT degree. Once he got through this summer and realized he wouldn't get much PT even on a depleted DL, it was just the straw that broke the camel's back.
