Wow, the White House is starting the process of making a SCOTUS nominee short list...and Democrats are saying this next confirmation process will be even more brutal than the last. What on earth can be even worse than the last one? Holy cow.

Time to nominate Amy Coney Barrett - 46 years old, female, competent. Is she up for the nomination process though - being falsely accused of various despicable crimes, being a racist, being a bigot? Who wants to go through that?

Its politico, that group are the ones that the establishment wants, but now that we have a few more R votes, Trump still owes us a Scalia-like replacement.

Can’t be as bad as going through as the most hated demographic of all. Privileged white males!! :D

She a conservative so not allowed to play the gender card. Play it anyway and then you will really see a meltdown of emotions from the left...that and more insane hypocrisy.

Somehow Neil Gorsuch avoided being called anything or accused of any crimes. Amazing huh? Or maybe he just wasn't a despicable person.

He was replacing one of the most conservative judges on the court. 45 Democrats voted against him despite having the highest rating by the Bar Association. So clearly they did think he was a despicable person too - which ultimately is anybody who doesn’t think like them.

The greatest threat to our democracy is the fascism of the left.

And the greatest threat to the fascism of the left is the liberty and Constitution loving right. Something has to give it seems.

    https://www.cnn.com/2019/04/02/opinions/supreme-court-cruel-death-row-ruling-filipovic/index.html

Another example of why justices that actually stick to the constitution and law matter. I also thought about filing this post under Fake News.

If you read this article, you'd get the sense that this man is about to die an extremely painful death, and for no reason...and also that our justice system is racist and this black man is getting railroaded in the deep south just as other black people have for centuries.

So, like any responsible person who happens upon a CNN article should do, I used the Google, LOL. Turns out:
    1) This man is not black - he is white.
    2) This case is not in the deep south, or even the south. Its in the Midwest.
    3) There is no scientific evidence that his medical condition would result in cruel and unusual punishment, or that lethal injection would have any different impact on him due to his medical condition.
    4) His request for death by breathing pure nitrogen instead has never been done, and there is no proof it would in fact not be painful or worse.
    5) His victims whom he shot and raped OVER 20 YEARS AGO I'm sure would roll over in their graves that we're arguing about what level of perfect comfort he wants.

Had the Supreme Court not had the conservative majority it has, the justices would have set a precedent that any perceived suffering by the criminal, even without any scientific or medical evidence, would have been enough to stay the execution. It would have effectively ended capital punishment.

While I consider myself a moderate conservative (I know you cant tell by my arguments on this site) I also believe that time lessons the conservative drive. Yes individuals maintain but they also die off. Europe is a classic example, war torn, med-evil feuds, invasions etc.... now a liberals stronghold. Even Britain has fallen. The US will follow the pattern, nations are like kids, they need help in beginning, get stubbornly independent and aggressive in the teen years and old and gentile in the end

You might be correct. The US might eventually become a socialist country. However, it is my opinion that the text of law is extremely important.

I think it was brilliant how the US government was formed with separation of powers. Congress makes laws. The President enforces and administers laws. The courts interpret laws. If any of those go around their powers, then the whole process is no longer working. If the Supreme Court ignores the words written in the Constitution for a higher sense or morality, then the process is solely reliant on the members of the Supreme Court. If under the 18th amendment, the Supreme Court had made a ruling that even though the Constitution expressly prohibited manufacture, sale, and transportation of intoxicating liquors, that under certain circumstances it was OK, then the express intent of a large majority of Congress and the States would have been ignored. It is very hard to change the Constitution. If it were easy to change, then it wouldn't be a good rock for the foundation of law in the US.

That's my pick too. I look forward to what gang rapist or serial Christian attacks are launched at her. "You once said that you thought children are best raised with both a mother and a father in the home. Are you still an intolerant bigot?"

Democrats will Weekend-at-Bernies RBG, mark my words. When something happens to her, she's going to be kept on life support and they'll refuse to pull the plug until a Democrat is elected President. She'll probably put it in her healthcare wishes and will to force the issue.

yea , i get the argument for her but she's an unknown. Trump still owes us a Scalia-like replacement. I'd take my chances on Cruz or Lee. Think of all the RINO's who vote yes just to get them out of the senate!

Both of them would be good, but they’ll be accused of intolerant bigoted racist gang rapist behavior.
