I think Hugh Freeze and Mickey Conn were the driving factors behind the rule implementation.

Per NCAA bylaw 11.4.3, he cannot be hired to a back office job...only an on field job.

So, the key phrase is “recruited”, not even if they sign or not?

4 years seems like a long time frame, but we all know why a rule like this was put in place.
