Covid has created such odd psychological conflicts. Players health and slowing the spread is the top priority. But I like having sports as a diversion from the dullness of precautions and lockdowns. So when games get canceled I am alternately disappointed and hoping everyone is ok. But it jars me back into a reality I was trying to avoid.
We’ve all been at this long enough that we should be able to shuffle games around so that healthy/clear teams don’t have to miss much time. Wild thinking I know.
This scares me; the longer the pause the tighter we will play coming back out. A positive is that it may lead somebody like Alvarado or Wright to consider doing it again next year to make up for a fizzled senior campaign with lighter courseload.
