Good job by the staff and players of maximizing the wins of this team.
I know alot of fans have talked about how they think there are other games we could have won, but I'm not sure I agree with that.

We have 3 games where we scored the winning points in the last 22 seconds of the game - FSU, UNC, NCST. Could have very easily lost any of those, but we won all three.
In the 4 games we lost
Syracuse - down 17 with 8:39 left in the game, never had the ball with a chance to score the winning points.
L'ville - after the blocked FG never was within 1 score.
ND - down multiple scores for the last 26 minutes of the game
VT - was down multiple scores for the last 20 minutes of the game.

None of our losses where that close to being wins, while multiple wins were close to being potential losses. Given the situations at QB and RB, not sure getting more than 7 wins at this point was ever a significant possibility. 4-7 was more likely than 9-3, so getting to 7-4 is really a good job.
I think VPI plays out much differently with a healthy King. That is the only one.

If the OL couldn’t create any holes last night for our RBs, I am going to hate to see what happens against UGA next week. With a stacked box when King was in, that could be expected, but when Philo was in, and State had a more normal alignment, State still shut down our RBs.
That is very disturbing that we weren’t able to adjust our blocking or run plays to adjust for what they were doing

Pretty good article by Jackson Caudell (SI) on the game. The "GOOD" demonstrates how Coach Key's program is making significant progress towards a place we all desire for Georgia Tech Football. I believe Coach Key and his staff can fix much of the "BAD". Hopefully, they can make a lot of corrections before next Friday night.

Their DL and LB's shut down our run game. JK got less than 40 yards total rushing with several TFL. He needs some space to be effective. Holes weren't there last night. NCSU DL was tough. Our pass protection was good but not our run blocking.

Good point. If you watch before the kick the wind was blowing his left to right. He kicked it exactly like he wanted, the ball came back right and almost nailed it. It was an excellent missed kick.
I thought the wind was going to bring it back to the right when in the air. It almost did. That was a good kick and had plenty of distance with that helping wind.

Here’s another thing when NC State broke their last TD run, if their RB had dove inside the 10 they could have kicked a game winning last sec FG. Thankfully they must have turned off our Miami game film before Singleton’s last run.
I don’t think that’s a fair comparison. We had the lead when Singleton slid. Not sure the coaches would agree with you. I could be wrong though.

You take away our two largest home games and move them to “neutral sites” and what do you expect?
Yeah I don’t think the tweet from Chad tells the whole story. Still wish our fanbase would support the programs though but support is undoubtedly building at least for football. I haven’t seen the Upper North as packed as it was this season in a minute. Unfortunately the UE and probably UW (though I never get a great look at it) are probably siphoning numbers. Student support has been great and hopefully is building the next generation of Tech football addicts.

For those that weren't there, kg put his prediction % full on the line and made it stand. I don't know if we'll ever see it again.....

I can only modestly say ... Philo wasn't the only legendary performance in that 4th quarter.

Just a comment on announcers: both those guys talked *way* too much. Never shut up. Often talking over each other.

And 70% of it wasn't even about the game. 40% was just regurgitated, nonsensical observations they already made in pregame.

"Bwah, they might still runit even tho Philo's in, blah, blah, blah."

Do the math on that, nerds.

We have struggled to run against odd fronts and exotic blitzes this year. When you run a zone scheme you run into that problem. Thats teh short answer.

The long answer is in order to actually counter this we needed to get our toss run working the issue is that play really only works when it has hte threat of the midline off it or quick rpo. Ralph Freidgin would have gone to I formation sets and running his version of speed potion agains the ouside backer. Johnson would go to flex TIght and rocket toss a team doing that to death then hit them with PA (whcih we almost did just... dropped it). Nix would have ran Reggie on QB draws against 8 man coverage ( what essentially won us the game) The issue was their nose was beating double teams.
Please keep posting things like this. Good post.
