Yes but they also let their qb run at will...gave points right back
I do not understand college coaches. They will roll out that three rush 8 defend defense every time with the game on the line and consistently get burned. This time, State did it and Philo said thank you and ran practically untouched until he got near the end zone. Then Tech, not to be outdone, does the same thing and was very fortunate that the State kicker just missed a 58 yard field goal for the win. About the only thing that "prevent defense" actually prevents is your team winning. State had great success rushing the passer and went away from it. I don't understand coaches sometimes.

Super pumped for this crazy win. Defense played horrible tonight especially tackling. However I can't believe how happy I am to have 7 wins going into the Dwags. I hope Haynes King is okay. I still have to wonder how this year would have looked had he been healthy. Go Jackets!
D played a great first half. They scored. The O didn’t.

Their QB runs were against a 4 man or more rush when we were in man to man defense. They were not against a 3 man rush.

Defense played pretty great for three quarters and atrocious for one quarter. Not sure how you evaluate that. Likewise, the offense played pretty atrocious for three quarters and made enough clutch plays in the last one.

Whatever. A win is a win. Beating a conference opponent without your starting QB healthy is never easy. 7 wins with two games left. 5-0 at home. We’re showing serious progress under Key in less than three full seasons as HC.
Amen!

Im not apologizing for anything. Do you personally think we played well tonight and we just had to fight hard to overcome a great performance by NC State? If so good for you. I simply disagree.
Ehh... I thought our OC/HC had a little identity crisis and we're stubborn about just handing keys over to Philo sooner AND the run blocking was pretty bad tonight overall. The defense done a lot of good things but too many big runs by QB as game went on but can't keep expecting them to bail you out forever we aren't that Defense just yet....Kudos to Birr too he kicked well tonight on a windy night
