I'm glad to see this. Jose got fleeced on his post-rookie contract but I think he also is smart enough to know that very little is guaranteed in the NBA (especially when your career is built on hustle and heart) and I don't blame him for cashing in on an offer of generational wealth for his family, even if the number is a little lower than he deserves. Still my favorite Jacket ever. Not even remotely surprised he's a fan favorite in NOLA.
I hope he can get back to McCamish for a game one of these years so we can give him a proper salute. He'll be in Atlanta December 2nd with the next game not until the 5th but I believe our guys are in Norman, Okla during that span. I think Moses Wright was a guest at a game a year or two ago, got put on the jumbotron, and I was the only person in my section who gave him a standing ovation. It was sad. Looks like Ush will likely be back in Atlanta for some time in February so hopefully he can get out to a game or two.
