Is there any way to hide a thread?

There is a certain thread that seems to ALWAYS be on the front page that I am tired of seeing there. Is there any way that I can hide that particular thread?

You could ignore the original poster of the thread, I believe.

However, you would then not be able to see any posts by that user.

Thanks. I decided to ignore the person. I have quite a few people on my ignore list, so what's one more, right?
