If you are equating Buckhead with Midtown, you're as confused geographically as you are politically.I do go there for GT athletic events, i am a grown man not a 20 year old. Did any of you see 11 Alive news this morning. I rest my case.

All I can find is a Buckhead shooting outside a strip club (https://www.11alive.com/article/new...s-car/85-6cd47fb5-3c87-4a4d-af45-954739ae3505) and GT cancelled the 2020 Spring program in China because of coronavirus concerns (https://www.11alive.com/article/new...urses/85-b5b237f8-eee8-4b99-a98d-f464c55ad159).

You have my sympathy having a 20 year old granddaughterShe is a soph at Ga State. I worry about her safety. Would you let your daughter attend Ga State or Ga Tech and live on campus
Here is from the crime report received today ab out crimes near Old Fourth Ward that illustrates the base problem:
Atlanta Police captured three suspects near Ponce City Market, including a convicted felon, who committed multiple burglaries on New Year’s Eve. Sandra Cummings, 25; Dequentavius Rosser, 19; and Antavius Walker, 29 were charged with multiple burglaries. Walker is a convicted felon with 21 previous arrests.
The man just needed another chance. I’m sure he sees the light now.Walker is a convicted felon with 21 previous arrests, and he was still out on the streets? WOW !!!

Dafuq is wrong with y'all?!
This is what I get for traipsing into the Lounge, huh?
This is like being outta town and walking into a bar hoping to get a stiff drink. Only you look around and folks are dressed 'funny' and seem way too into looking deeply into your eyes.
At that point, you jus' walk out slowly and hope nobody saw you come in.
Yeah, that's how y'all are making me feel rite now. Y'all are playing by a totally differen't set o' rules in this game.
I just saw this thread and am TOTALLY confused by it. My wife and I used to live in the burbs and moved 5 years ago into town, and now live about 1 mile east of the downtown skyscrapers (Old Fourth Ward). We are EXTREMELY safe, and feel MUCH safer than our former suburban neighborhood. (And statically as well, we are...)
SOUTH of downtown has issues, but downtown the only real issues are the liberal city administrators who refuse to keep repeat offenders locked up. We get a crime report in our area, and the VAST majority of criminals arrested are multiple repeat offenders.
Nevertheless, in town is quite safe, imho. (And has less traffic as well.)

Visit each thread in here that remotely has to do with politics (and some that don't). It's the same pattern: The same handful of posters going around in a circle jerk. Someone new comes in to add a new POV, and the same horde descends. Liberals!!! Socialists!!! It's actually pretty humorous how it's all like clockwork. Literally, go into any of the political threads in the Lounge and it's the same thing over and over.
Anyhow, that article pretty much summarizes what's going on in the Lounge...and in social media these days. I personally love hearing different POVs because you want to see something from a different perspective. Not everyone views the world the same...and maybe that's the problem. Some people are comfortable in their corner, and that's fine. IMO, it's pretty lonely living like that.

LOL......no, nor am I the guy who stumbles down the Beltline mumbling offensive things about others. I am, however the guy who (quietly...mostly) grumbles about how crowded it gets on pleasant weekends because tourists throng to it clogging it up for us locals. You know, the tourists from Alpharetta and Marietta and John’s Creek. Da** them all!Fellow O4W'er myself! How awesome is our 'hood?! Beltline life is amazing...and all the awesome restaurants!
My biggest problem in the area isn't the crime. It's all the festivals that go on during the Spring and Summer seasons causing all the suburbanites to descend to our area and congesting it. Don't you suburbanites have better things to do like to Bed Bath and Beyond, and Target?!
BTW...please tell me you're not the guy zooming down the Beltline on his bike yelling at people to get out of the way? I mean, it's OK if you are...I'm just saying...
Yeah. Bottom line is you humans(sic) are weird.
On a completely unrelated yet imminently more interesting note, kg02 got an ice cream maker for her birthday. She wants to open a restaurant some day so, of course, the kg's support her vision.
First batch blows anything Mayfield, Ben, Jerry or Haagen n' them makes outta the water.
I mainly believe this because you didn't produce the ice cream. Seems legit, as a result.
