Of note: our 3 losses are 7-1 #2 Tennessee (#10 KenPom), undefeated 9-0 St. Johns (#53 KenPom), and 7-3 Northwestern (#47 KenPom). Northwestern's 3 losses are to Fresno State, #25 Indiana by 2 points, and #5 Michigan by 2. All 3 of these losses were on the road to teams who are a combined 23-4.

Our next big games (after a home against Gardner-Webb) is (yes another) road game @Arkansas (#50 KenPom). Then we have 5 straight home games including the first 2 ACC games. Sure would be nice to stretch it out to 11-3 before we start hitting the meat of the ACC schedule.

With the strength of schedule we will eventually have, if we go 19-13, I think we're into the NCAA tournament. 8-10 in the ACC would get us there with an 11-3 or 10-4 start, but I'm not sure a 7-11 team would get in. We would literally be on the razor's edge getting in by 1 win I think.

With all the injuries last year, we're basically playing with a brand new team. I think they will continue to improve significantly as the year goes on. I don't know what that means in terms of a final record. But I suspect we will see better basketball in January than we are now, and even better basketball in February. Sure would be nice to see a lot of basketball in March too.

But seriously, I think Tech has a decent shot of being a tourney team IF they handle their business over the next few weeks....Arkansas and UGA wins will go a long way. Plus it will be nice to beat the mutts for once.
