Smelter noticed by NFL draft writer.

Smelter is an intriguing prospect. He has good size and speed and is an excellent athlete. The first two catches of his college career went for TDs last week in a rout of Duke. He finished with three catches for 47 yards against the Blue Devils.

I hope we get to keep him for two years. Maybe he needs to tone it down for a little while...

NFL loves raw players that have buku potential (i.e. Stephen Hill and Darrius Heyward-Bey come to mind). If he shows enough play-making ability and has the measurables that the NFL covets (6'+ tall, 220+ lbs and runs sub 4.40), he will definitely get drafted.

Who would have thought Stephen Hill would have been drafted in the 2nd round based on his on-the-field production?
