Aug 3, 2014 7:12 AM - motynes: Hey Eric. Man I love the site. Thanks
Aug 3, 2014 7:20 AM - Eric: Glad to hear it.
Aug 3, 2014 7:27 AM - Longestday: Morning gentlemen
Aug 3, 2014 7:27 AM - Eric: Hey buddy.
Aug 3, 2014 7:29 AM - Longestday: I wonder if the Kallon and Gamble talk is real? Sure hope so...
Aug 3, 2014 7:30 AM - Eric: We will soon see...wont know until the pads get put on.
Aug 3, 2014 7:30 AM - Longestday: Adrian looks beefed up... Wonder if he gets a scholarship
Aug 3, 2014 7:31 AM - Eric: no idea, we do have a few to burn this year though.
Aug 3, 2014 7:31 AM - Longestday: Have the coaches said anything about Tre? He is like one large muscle.
Aug 3, 2014 7:33 AM - Eric: I haven't seen anything publicly, last time I talked to one of them about him was in Spring and they liked him. He is a workout warrior.
Aug 3, 2014 7:38 AM - Longestday: CPJ is already tired of answering the same questions with no real new data to give... I would be too
Aug 3, 2014 7:40 AM - Longestday: Glad you guys got media access!
Aug 3, 2014 7:47 AM - motynes: Hey any new news on Ratliff?
Aug 3, 2014 8:14 AM - Eric: Yeah, hope they continue to give us access.
Aug 3, 2014 8:14 AM - Eric: Latest I have heard on Ratliffe is in his thread.
Aug 3, 2014 8:16 AM - Longestday: Will you try and get articles published in papers?
Aug 3, 2014 8:19 AM - jayparr: What about Cooper
Aug 3, 2014 8:19 AM - motynes: So any real insight from coaches about how they think the DL will be?
Aug 3, 2014 8:20 AM - Eric: What about Cooper?
Aug 3, 2014 8:20 AM - Eric: No, we will publish articles on here.
Aug 3, 2014 8:21 AM - Eric: Really wont know about the DL until the pads come on...they really dont seem that worried about it right now.
Aug 3, 2014 8:24 AM - motynes: Well that actually makes me feel better. I guess thought we have what we have and can't fret over it
Aug 3, 2014 8:24 AM - motynes: Does the staff seem more confident than the past few years. Especially CPJ?
Aug 3, 2014 8:25 AM - motynes: It seems that way to me?
Aug 3, 2014 8:29 AM - Eric: CPJ seeemd confident to me last year, he seems to really like this group though. He is so focused on getting back to the basics.
Aug 3, 2014 8:29 AM - Eric: He seems to really like JT and TB.
Aug 3, 2014 8:57 AM - Jerry the Jacket: I talked to Roof and McCollum they both were very high on the Austin twins and thought they both had a chance to play this year. They said Harrell is still not ready to play but will be at some point this season. That suprised me. I thought he would be good to go the first game. Mac said he loves PJ Davis and he has to find a way to get him on the field more.
Aug 3, 2014 8:58 AM - Eric: Yeah they love the Austin twins, Great chance they play this year. Lance already has one INT in practice. I thought Harrell would be ready in a couple of weeks...that is new to me as well.
Aug 3, 2014 8:58 AM - Eric: Thanks for the info.
Aug 3, 2014 8:59 AM - Jerry the Jacket: Sewak said the Center battle is ongoing and O'Reilly and Burden are neck and neck. Chirs Griffin has lost 20 lbs. and is much quicker. He felt Chamberlin was getting better but needed to learn to stay on sides.
Aug 3, 2014 9:02 AM - Eric: They love Chris Griffin...CPJ commeneted yesterday that center battle is open still.
Aug 3, 2014 9:02 AM - Jerry the Jacket: It looks like the starting O Line will be Chamberlin, Braun, Burden, Mason and Griffin. Sewak said he has more depth even though less experience. He likes all the new O line recruits and may play one or two this year.
Aug 3, 2014 9:08 AM - Jerry the Jacket: Roof was concerned about the D Line. He said there was just uncertainty about what we have there. He said we want know to get in a game. They feel good about what they have in terms of presonnel but they need more than they have seen in the past.
Aug 3, 2014 9:09 AM - Jerry the Jacket: More in terms of pass rush.
Aug 3, 2014 9:21 AM - motynes: Is there any thought they may move someone down from LB to DE to get more of a pass rush
Aug 3, 2014 9:21 AM - motynes: So do,we think chamberlain is safe as a starter?
Aug 3, 2014 9:23 AM - Eric: I have posted a few times that Harrell could see some time at DE.
Aug 3, 2014 9:24 AM - Eric: Chamberlain is pretty much locked in.
Aug 3, 2014 9:28 AM - Body Massage Machine: Do you feel smelter is poised for a big year? Has he made even more progress since last year?
Aug 3, 2014 9:29 AM - Eric: Smelter is a excellent player, maybe the best on our team. I do think he is going to have a big year and the has made a ton of progress from last year...He is now focusing on football only and it is going to pay off. elite player.
Aug 3, 2014 9:29 AM - psjacket: Eric, absolutely love the site. What is the site's plan to stay financially viable?
Aug 3, 2014 9:31 AM - Eric: Thanks for that, and we are fine! John has that area covered.
Aug 3, 2014 9:33 AM - psjacket: Great to hear. Has become the first site I look at. I'm a junkie.
Aug 3, 2014 9:36 AM - motynes: So do they expect a huge jump from Chamberlain as last year left lots to be desired?
Aug 3, 2014 9:37 AM - Body Massage Machine: Good to hear about smelter. Having that threat at receiver should make our return to the basics easier for our offense.
Aug 3, 2014 9:46 AM - motynes: How about Waller? He has so much potential, any thoughts that he may be ready to break through?
Aug 3, 2014 9:49 AM - Eric: I am not sure what they expect from Chamberlain, I am worried overall.
Aug 3, 2014 9:49 AM - Eric: I expect Waller to breakthrough, been putting in so much work.
Aug 3, 2014 10:07 AM - Jerry the Jacket: Coach Mac said that they might move Harrell and or Marcodes up as a stand up 4th defensive linemen for certain defensive calls. They hope to make that minimally necessary. I noticed Menocal and Kyle Travis sitting with the D line. So they will be playing DE most likely.
Aug 3, 2014 10:08 AM - Jerry the Jacket: Waller looked to be in great shape. I think he realizes if he wants to play on Sunday this his last best shot to show what he can do. Smelter passes the eye test as well. Coach Preston said he likes what he has this year at WR!
Aug 3, 2014 10:10 AM - Eric: Menocal has been at DE for awhile now...I posted awhile ago that Travis moved to DT in the Spring
Aug 3, 2014 10:14 AM - Jerry the Jacket: Yeah I think our starting D Line will be Stargell, Gotsis, Green and Freeman with the 2nd team being, Chungong, Gamble, Kallon and Menocal.
Aug 3, 2014 10:14 AM - Jerry the Jacket: Freeman is a big guy already and showed he can play in the spring game.
Aug 3, 2014 10:16 AM - Eric: Stagel and Chungong have a good battle going right now.
Aug 3, 2014 10:16 AM - Jerry the Jacket: One other interesting thing Coach Mac said was that Chase Alford was in the mix pretty strong at back up linebacker.
Aug 3, 2014 10:19 AM - jayparr: You're doing Jerry! Keep it going!
Aug 3, 2014 10:20 AM - jayparr: Enter Good where it is supposed to be!
Aug 3, 2014 11:49 AM - Jerry the Jacket: Eric what is the word on D. Noble? He looks like a grown man. I think he was sitting with the safeties yesterday.
Aug 3, 2014 11:56 AM - danny daniel: Got around to see all the players yesterday. Saw a lot of smiles, laughter, and enthusiasm....except Whitehead. He looked really down and rejected. Anything we can appropriately do to boost his morale? He needs a lift.
Aug 3, 2014 11:58 AM - psjacket: Danny, I noticed that in Whitehead as well.
Aug 3, 2014 12:00 PM - jayparr: He must realize things happen for a reason. He will; through an extra year of practice, will be more experienced, older, more mature, bigger, stronger, and wiser.
Aug 3, 2014 12:01 PM - jayparr: And that extra year! of course!
Aug 3, 2014 12:08 PM - Eric: Noble is playing S, He is one of my favorites. He is going to be well known soon IMO. I think hes due for a breakout year.
Aug 3, 2014 12:27 PM - danny daniel: We have several "quiet" and "by example" leaders on this team such as Gotsis, Laskey, Nealy, Mason, J Thomas, but lately I am picking up on S Days as a more enthusiastic rah-rah type leader. He seems to have that child-like magnetic personality. Am I reading this correctly?
Aug 3, 2014 12:34 PM - Jerry the Jacket: Good to hear on Noble. I have always thought he would be very good if healthy. With Golden, Johnson and Noble to fill the safety spots we should be in good shape. I like young John Marvin as well he was laying the lumber in the spring game.
Aug 3, 2014 1:09 PM - Bule: The players did seem that they were in a really good mood yesterday and appreciative we were there. Maybe cuz it wasn't as hot as usual
Aug 3, 2014 1:10 PM - Bule: Keshan freeman looked especially happy when I met him and he looked bigger than I thought he would be
Aug 3, 2014 5:40 PM - Longestday: stuck in airport ... had to de-plane arrrggg... better than getting on a broken aircraft and trying to cross the north pole!!!
Aug 3, 2014 7:20 AM - Eric: Glad to hear it.
